Stained side of the armchair facing the bed . We couldn't turn the heating down in the room, and it was roasting . Poor drainage in the shower room , floor was very wet and slippery after a shower .

Lovely big room . Tea and coffee provided . Free shower gel and shampoo. We didn't use the leisure facilities or stay for breakfast . Breakfast was over £16 pp.

The only downside to my stay was some serious damage to my vehicle in the car park overnight, someone hit my car and left.

I also stated on my request for a room which i could open the window, as i dont like the aircon, when we arrived we couldnt open the window and all the rooms same to be the same from the outside. As this was our first trip away since covid i am not a fan of aircon , the hotel should have contacted us before our stay to let us know that we couldnt open the windows and i would have booked somewhere else.

We booked in November choosing the hotel because of free parking, however on January 2nd, they started charging £10 to park, we had to argue that they should honour our contract. We had already paid, this should not have happened. Also we are in our seventies and our room had a high sill bath and no walk in shower. I could have broken a limb trying to get to the shower in the bath or fallen. Maybe there are no walk in showers in the hotel but I do think the young male receptionist should have been more careful when allocating our room. Also no bottles of water in room, nor any biscuits. I was charged £2.20 for a bottle of water. Very poor

The bedrooms looked tired and need renovating, the shower head was also failing. It was dissapointing the spa was an extra cost for guests and I felt £15 was too much.

The room was cold when we arrived and it was a stormy day. We were wet through and it took a long time for the room to warm up. There could be clearer instructions for the heating as what we were reading didn't match the symbols on the control panel

The very smiley young man on reception was very friendly and very good at communicating everything we needed to know

Perhaps not the most up-to-date gadgets for a 4 star hotel like a big TV screen, usb charging but not really a deal breaker. Some paint could do with re-touch here and there but really nit picking. Also wanted to mention very little hanging space for clothes. Overall we had a relaxing stay, and great staff which what really matters the most.

We had a restful stay here over the Christmas period of 2023, visiting Winchester. We were welcomed by friendly staff, good size room for my small family, good bathroom facilities and a responsive climate control. There were plenty of reception seating and a decent size restaurant with plenty of breakfast options. Again staff here were friendly and attentive.

More staff at check-in desk would be nice when it is busy, as I had to wait around a bit to speak to someone. Staffs were all friendly and helpful, they were just under-staffed.

Room- We stayed in a family bedroom with two double beds, spacious for family to stay with enough floor space to put luggage. It looked clean, though airing the room with fresh air could be added bonus. Bathroom was little small, toiletries for one night was okay, but not enough storage for more. Breakfast- it was good as you could decide in the morning if you want to get breakfast there. And it had good selection of breakfast menu.
