Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom2 hour wait for room when we arrived (at correct check in time) room an unusual layout. No desk/dressing table so difficult to do hair in morning. Only 1 small side table for 2 double beds, which quickly became full. Kettle located under the tv, which to me is a hazard when boiling and steam going into tv. Staff were not very helpful when asked for assistance.
Rooms were decent size. Beds were comfy and breakfast had a good selection

CanadaUnfortunately, the AC was out in our room, which made it very warm at night. The hotel had already warned us of the problem and provided a fan, which was broken and unfortunately they didn't have a replacement.
We were very pleased with our room. Clean, and comfy in a beautiful neighbourhood and close to the tube. Morning breakfast was provided and tasty.

NetherlandsI had to stay in London to get an emergency travel doc having lost my passport. Staff weren't mad when I didn't have photo ID, gave me a drink on the house and the concierge even walked me to the passport office to show me where to go. Amazing customer service.

IndiaRooms are quite tiny with no cooling and the heating system not really working. Staff refused to give us water bottles even stating that water was supplied only once for the whole stay period and are not refilled daily.
Located quite Centrally and is walking distance from Gloucester Road Underground. Morning breakfast was decent.

AustraliaAir conditioning in our suite was dreadful! Second 3 days Portable unit far too noisy and not really cool. We were in the older part of the hotel that had not been refurbished. First 3 nights on 6th floor was excellent!
Breakfast overpriced. Should be 2 prices, Continental and full English, I had coffee and a bowl of cereal, thought £20 was a little expensive for that.

United StatesThe room was hot and had no air conditioning and no fresh air. Windows opened to major street. Staff placed noisy fans in the room that did not cool the room. Water added to these swamp cooling machines was only slightly effective. Room was booked weeks in advance. This made our stay in London uncomfortable.

AustraliaThe fire alarm went off about 4 or 5 times in 1 day, once in the morning (which we were told was a test) and another 4 times that night. Saw staff running in the corridor to determine if it was in fact a drill... told to wait and then told it was "sorted" then after it went off a few more times and we called reception, was told that most likely someone was smoking in their room. It was extremely disruptive, going after 10pm at night, with young children. The beds in the room are not as big as they appear in the photos, felt more like a small double. The reception staff were not very friendly and the lady we had upon checkout gave us a printout that showed we owed money (although we had already fully paid)- after a bit of back and forth finally another staff member was able to provide a print out that showed we owed nothing.
The location in South Kensington is really good, especially being close to the tube, shops and restaurants, although a little far to walk to the main tourist sites like Buckingham, Big Ben etc. But a good location for Kensington Palace and gardens and the Natural History Museum and V&A Museum. The breakfast was good and the room was decent in terms of size and clean. The lady that worked at the concierge Hilton rewards desk was really friendly and helpful as were the breakfast staff.

United KingdomInitially given room 130, honestly worse room ever. Smelt of cooking food as above kitchens and the doors didn't seal shut so the smell just kept coming in. Told it was a garden view but was a fire escape outside. Initially told no rooms available to move to but after showing I was able to still book online for the night we were moved. Room OK but industrial air con unit far too loud, no fridge just an empty cupboard and a garden view of a rooftop. 2nd visit was very disappointing and likely to not return again, especially when there are so many other hotels in the vicinity as the location is fabulous. Also didn't get the cookies this time which was such a lovely touch when we stayed in March. The change from then to now was noticeable overall.
Comfortable beds, good breakfast selection, was surprised how quiet it was at breakfast.

United StatesHousekeeping. Very unorganized, was told multiple times they are outsourcing their housekeeping staff. Did not have housekeeping in our room often, but was unable to get replenish of toilet paper, towels or coffee after asking multiple times. Had to find towel carts on different floor, had to buy coffee & ask family member staying on different floor for toilet paper. Front office always willing to help & they had to take portable fan from different floor as the housekeeping on our floor appeared non existing, office staff would tell us they sent messages to housekeeping but it appeared that was the end of their trying to help ( except for one of front staff took fan off different floor after I asked if I could take it to my room)
Staff was always friendly, breakfast was good options, but pricey, loved the afternoon tea in the domes! Trainees should have name tag saying trainee, that might prevent issues in future. Had several issues w check in, and in the end took 10% off entire stay. That was very thoughtful.
