The bedrooms were a little tired compared to the rest of hotel which was decorated beautifully.my understanding from staff that these were slowly being refurbished.

The decoration downstairs from lobby to restaurant was stunning but the best part was the staff especially the receptionist and bar staff . We had a few issues with our room x 2 and they simply couldn’t do enough and upgraded us to a suit which was stunning. The food in restaurant was very good and breakfast lovely although lady supervising could have been a bit more friendly.

Nothing met my expectations and choice of stay.

Room was spacious although was different to what was booked via booking dot com. large Bathroom and good sized bed that offered a good nights rest after a long drive. There was a complimentary bottle of red wine which i felt was a beautiful touch and really was welcoming on arrival. Some real character and history with the building and set in beautiful landscapes and country feel but not far from the main amenities. Bath products were of a high standard and not the normal token shampoo and body wash that you would get from a branded company. If you want a beautiful building with excellent attention to detail and relaxing stay then use Hollin House Hotel. Unfortunately I didn't use the dinning facilities but will next time as it was nearly full for dinner both residents and non residents.

Some of the decor was a little tired but nothing major at all.

Gorgeous building with beautiful period features. Comfortable room with nice clean bathroom and good shower. The staff were fantastic and really helpful and welcoming. The food was excellent I ate in the restaurant at breakfast and for dinner. Great choice and everything cooked fresh.

Dinner supposed to be Italian but although menus Italian, it was cooked in a British way. The lasagne was not very Italian and the bolognaise sauce was chunks of beef and one layer of pasta instead of minced beef in alternate layers of pasta and bolognaise sauce. We decided to eat out for the rest of our stay. The hotel was fine but was somewhat of a "rabbit warren" because the hotel had been extended with additional bedroom wings. There were three light bulbs not working in our room so it was difficult to read anything due to the low light. When we asked for new light bulbs we were moved immediately as they did not keep any spare bulbs which was odd. There was no external lighting to the car park which was down a slope - difficult in the dark without a torch. Easy to rectify.

My room was cold - the radiators did not junction but I told reception and this was sorted by a portable radiator that plugged into the electricity. All good after that.

Great isolated location. Lack of any noise apart from local sheep! Grand entrance and super friendly staff. One problem I had was dealt with extremely quickly. Lovely restaurant and the menu for the evening was super

The room was bit outdated, front of the building is beutiful, however the pictures of the hotel does not show you the back od it, ugly old building with old rooms, my room had some white I wanna say paint on the whole window, which was not really nice.

The bed could do with a new mattress and some of the bedroom furniture was a little dated. The bathroom was quite modern but the temperature dial on the shower was broken and was very hard to adjust. As a guest at a the wedding you could not go into main bar where there was more comfortable seating and better selection of drinks.

The rooms could do with a bit of renovation. We were told that the windows are due to be replaced soon. My husband said that the beer tasted strange too (although he still managed to drink a few.)

The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and it was fantastic! Lovely decor, great food and service.

Breakfast had not been booked with dining room. We had asked for breakfast when we checked in. Coffee was cold and cooked breakfast was poor. Not good value. Egg over cooked and everything was dry like it had been kept warm for ages.

Entrance full of character. Comfortable bed. Nice restaurant had a lovely evening meal. Staff in dining room helpful and attentive.

The hotel on the whole is looking tired and needs money spending on it to bring it up date-particularly the bedrooms. The guy on the bar (the one with the beard!) was very rude to wedding guests going to the main bar to buy drinks that weren't available at the bar at the wedding reception.

Comfy bed, good breakfast, beautiful reception area. The lady on reception the night we arrived was lovely and very helpful. Lovely wedding venue.

Room not as clean as could be. Cobwebs and and spiders in one corner in particular. Radiator not been cleaned especially behind and apparant as room light shone on it. Not the best quality decoration , paint and tiling not done well and visable.

Excellent service. High quality and good value meal in the restaurant. Very big room and bathroom. Had lift which was important for us as both disabled.

Poor lighting in room. No street lights to walk from bottom car park as I arrived late in the dark. Sat navigation to the hotel using your post code was a nightmare. Ended up in a cul-de-sac on a housing estate.
