Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNoise from people above walking around etc. Toilet has a glass door (opaque glass) but no seal around the door so make sure you know whoever you're staying with well. A bit longer walk than anticipated to station but that's on me being unfit! But... for the price I can't complain.
Good mattress, comfortable, tea and coffee facilities, clean, spacious (King Room), good WiFi, secure parking. Smoking / Vaping area.

United KingdomNot really the establishment's fault but no catering facilities on site and any cafés or pubs are a fair walk away, so you end up with a safari breakfast. The Park Cafe and the Grand Junction Arms are not too far and are excellent venues for a breakfast and a beer respectively. None of the cafés open in evening but the pub does good food. Final thing a few benches outside the hotel would be useful.
Friendly, efficient & helpful staff and there 24/7. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Excellent location for visiting North Middlesex Hospital a short stroll away.

RomaniaThe walls are very thin, we could hear everything other people outside are doing, even walking and sometimes it sounded like it was happening in our room which made sleeping a bit hard.
It was nice and clean. Perfect for a night before going to the airport.

United KingdomLack of a proper desk for working/studying. There was a large room referred to as "the kitchen" ( with a fridge and microwave but no sink) which had tables which was useful, but we got told around midnight one night that the room isn't really for use at night. I should mention that my wife and I were studying in total silence. Later the staff member who told us this came and apologised. After that we were left alone and used the room whenever we liked, but always with a slightly nervous feeling.
Friendly staff, reasonable prices, very clean, mostly quiet except for one night when some inconsiderate guests decided to "party" into the early hours. We complained to reception and the noise-makers were told, but they didn't really stop. This was in no way the fault of the hotel management or staff. Just unfortunate.

United KingdomThe heating in the room was temperamental and couldn't be controlled by the guest. On checking in, we were told that the heating would come on throughout the building if the temperature outdoors falls to 10 degrees C. It did almost every night but the heating didn't come on. So we were cold some nights. On other nights, with no big difference in the outdoor temperature, the heating came on and stayed on all night. Apart from the heating, the main problem we had was that there was nowhere to work in the room. There was no proper table and only one chair (although the receptionist brought us a second chair when we asked). My wife and I were not there on holiday; we were there because we were having our house redecorated. We had a lot of academic work to do but it wasn't easy to work in the room without a proper desk or table. Before booking in, I went to inspect the hotel. The receptionist showed me around and among other places took me to a large room with tables and chairs. He told me the guests had access to this room, as well as to the fridge and kettle which were in the room. (It was slightly odd that there was a kettle mugs and plates, but no sink. Still, there were toilets across the corridor so we washed anything needing to be washed in there. One night, my wife and I were working on our laptops in there quite late but in total silence, and a rather grumpy night receptionist came and asked if we'd been told we were allowed to be in there. I told him I'd been told guests had access, and this space which seemed to be a good work space was one of the main reasons I'd booked the place. He then went back to his reception desk, and came back and apologised later. We carried on working in that room until around 2 am but always felt slightly uncomfortable being in there late at night after that. I should say that most of the staff were helpful.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the ensuite room facilities were mostly good. Comfortable shower, clean towels, tea and coffee making facilites. Very helpful friendly reception and room servicing staff

United KingdomStaff were not very friendly or welcoming. Room cleanliness was average with human hair on bed on arrival, which wasn’t very nice. Room really small with sink in inconvenient position on opposite side of room from toilet and shower. Walls very thin, kept awake by neighbours snoring. Only one pillow in bed, but did get more when asking.
Free secure parking was good and convenient for hospital where visiting. Tea and coffee making equipment good.
