How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The property was extremely clean easy to locate, & 10 mins from Heathrow Airport. The people who run the lodge were lovely extremely helpful & nothing was too much. I would highly recommend this lovely lodge for a wknd break or if your flying out from Heathrow on an early flight. We will definitely be staying there again.

Decoration was tired and except for one chair we only had the bed to relax on.
Breakfast was not provided. We liked the location and cleanliness and the lady that ran it was very attentive.

The connecting bedroom had a thin wall so was aware of a person in the next room.
For me the location was the best about this booking for my short stay visiting family. A mile walk to Uxbridge Town Centre and near to the Grand Union Canal where I had an enjoyable run along the canal away from traffic - Cowley to Uxbridge. Close to the major motorways M25 and M40 ideal for my trip to High Wycombe and returning back to Lincolnshire. A short walk to some takeaways, convenience stores and a public house also a Lidl supermarket! The single room was bigger than expected and a bonus with a sink. The shared shower room and toilet was spacious too! Nice to have the facility of a a small kitchen with fridge, microwave and sink. Great way to start the day on porridge!

Bigger cups A TV that had a good signal Breakfast included would of been nice especially as it's advertised outside the hotel

I didn't like the community bathroom and toilet
The cleanliness of the place and the lady there treated me very very nice. She even escorted me to the bus stop carrying my luggage. Very pleasant lady❤❤

Been visiting for years. Always loved it but now it's had total revamp, new beds and wardrobes, carpets and fittings. Everywhere freshly-painted and new sockets with USB ports. High quality accommodation and always a warm welcome from the owner. Highly recommended!

That u could literally hear everything the neighbour next door is saying...
Nice get away,but needs private bathrooms, if possible! The beds should be a bit harder like orthopaedic...

First irritation on arrival, was the lady in charge. She was very instructional & condescending. She kept repeating instruction at me. At some point she even instructed my son to fill out a form on my behalf - which suggested she judged me incapable of completing my own forms! In the room, the duvet was thin & not warm enough. The bedside lamp had a red tinge which I found irritating. The radiator did not work. There was a portable heater which took a long time to warm the room. The warm water supply to the room's tap was a trickle and the tap & drain metal parts were partly discoloured into a rusty tinge as if what came out of the tap was so foul it discoloured the metal. The bathroom was shared and had a very weak shower. The place did not meet my expectations. It's more a boarding house for students or travelling men. Certainly not for ladies - especially at night when one needs to use the loo. You're compelled to leave the safety of your room to use a shared toilet with strangers. Not good! Booking.Com could have been clearer about the bathroom sharing, and pointed out the Lodge's unsuitability for women. The worst part, I couldn't even get a refund.
The bed was good & hard; not soft and saggy. The beddings were clean.
