How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The only problem we had was that some of the pots didn’t work on the stove which was a bit confusing as it’s an induction stove (new things learned) but there is actually to dislike about this house.
The property was absolutely immaculate with so much space for our group. Stairs also had baby gates which were really useful. The place is so clean and comfortable, I highly recommend it. Catherine was so helpful with any queries and just so accommodating.

Everything was great. We were very happy with the holiday house.
The house is modern, clean , spacious and comfortable. It is within easy reach of the beach as well as local shops and coastal drives. Hosts are very responsive and the trip was a great success.

Spacious & comfortable holiday home. Extremely well equipped kitchen & very comfortable beds. Catherine was a friendly & attentive host, responding to queries immediately. There was also a detailed manual left in the property with helpful instructions and information on the local area (including good restaurant recommendations). Plenty of space for parking for multiple cars.

We loved our stay at Hopefield. It was perfect for our family get-together! The house had fantastic facilities! Everything was provided for babies/young children and for pets. There was even a BBQ, which was perfect as the weather was wonderful. The beds were all extremely comfortable - extra pillows and blankets were available also. Great location! Catherine was a fantastic host with great communication! I am sure we will be back again!

Only thing is half hour walk to town centre or short taxi ride..... Definitely wouldn't put me off staying again
Great modern house in a lovely area with all the facilities you need .Bedrooms and bathroom facilities are excellent. Brilliant dining area and patio area which is sun trap when it's out.Host Catherine is on hand for any needs and also left a complementary bottle of prosecco which was a lovely touch

Nothing at all! Everything was perfect!
It is an extremely clean and cosy. It feels more like home than just a guest house. The bedrooms are very nice and the beds are super comfortable. It has fully equipped kitchen - the best one I've been to. There is even laundry detergent if you wish to use the washing machine. The location is perfect, close enough to Giant's Causeway, Bushmills, the castle and even Dark Hedges is not too far (about 25-30 mins car ride). To top everything, there was a very nice welcome gift from the host. I would definitely recommend!

Lovely size house we were group of nine all could fit round kitchen table, lovely patio, comfortable bedrooms. Well equipped kitchen, lots of small extra touches. Adequate bathrooms. Home from home. Liked boost button on shower.

Distance from town.
The house was modern and very clean, well equipped and super- organised . Communication with the host was very good also. The welcome bottle in the fridge, biscuits , teas, coffees were a nice personal touch.
