States here with family 11 - 16 July '22 . As the cottage is literally in the middle of nowhere the views were fantastic and extremely quiet. I could really think about moving here . Cottage itself was very nice , clean and maintained to a high standard . Owner was helpful and friendly . Only a short drive to the nearest town . 100% I would recommend this place as I have no complaints at all

The bed was a little firm, which did become uncomfortable after a while. This is probably due to personal preference and old bones.

The cottage is on a working farm, but this doesn’t interfere with the cottage. There was very little disturbance from the animals. It is warm and cosy. The kitchen is downstairs and is very well equipped. It has a stone floor. Upstairs were the main living rooms. Again, very well equipped and clean. The lounge is very comfortable. The bathroom has a bath and shower. It was very clean. The master bedroom was a bit small, but very comfortable and clean. There are plenty of decent sized towels. We didn’t use the other bedroom with the single beds. The views from the lounge and passageway were stunning.

Everything worked. Mirrors in rooms and towels provided. Very warm and cosy. Parking not a problem. Dog bowls were even provided! Brought own hairdryer. No negatives.

Perfect location for visiting ulverston which has lots of lovely little shops and bars and places to eat. Was about an hour drive to wastewater lake to start the accent of scarfell. Coniston was half hour. Haverthwaite steam train to windermere only 20mins drive. Walney Island close by too.Furness Abbey also short drive to Dalton. Quiet rural location lovely after a busy day of outings. The hosts also have lots of info on near by attractions.
