How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very dated and somewhat dilapidated facilities (peeling wallpaper, old bathroom fixtures left on walls, broken shower gel holder, etc)

Hotel in need of some upgrade/refurbishment Pool nice but area grubby and run down. Especially changing room. Breakfast overcooked and was seated in the middle which wasn't nice. Room change was ok except fan outside window kept me awake all night which was not ideal.
Good location. Staff all fab. Changed room which was done easily and smoothly without fuss. Dinner was good. Room good size . Hotel very quiet although that is not good for business.

The charge for each person to use the internet both had to pay to use the room was very basic advertised sky but no sky usb socket in wall not working lights with no switches a couple using the room only one towel provided no phone in room had to keep walking to reception for missing items shower inside bath very slippery when shower in use I am disabled so had to shower was a bit scared to move around as it was like a skating rink once you started using soap shampoo ect Breakfast was OK small portions but good variety

No hot water for showers in the morning. Seemed to apply to most of the guests so I assume there was some sort of heating issue. Staff didn’t mention it unless asked.

Such a shame, used to be a good hotel and is a lovely building now very dated and used as a cheap overnight stop for contractors. Space totally unloved and not used to its potential. Staff not particularly interested.

Room very small. Bathroom door hanging off hinges and unable to close. Electric room heater not working, room very cold(15.5c). No mirror in bathroom. Bed mattress springs “pinging” with every movement. No lift. Kettle just about fitted under water tap.
Place was clean and organised.

NOthing personally but I feel others who stay may be disappointed when comparing photos with reality. Its is all a bit tired and dated, but as I said above very clean and v friendly staff

Very small bar area for relaxing and eating. Needs a good clean and property is very tired. Reflected in the price so all ok

Felt a bit dated and run down, small bed, no pressure in hot water tap, came out as a dribble, the cooked breakfast wasn't great and the coffee latte from the breakfast coffee machine was disgusting.
Country Hotel that was quiet and great location.

Difficult to check in as the woman couldn’t find my booking.
Wanted to check in at 2pm so had to pay the extra £15 to do that. Tried to get some sleep as I’d been on the road for 7 hrs. Got a knock at my room door with an electrician coming into the room to do some work. Went and slept in the car.

Sitting in the bar for dinner, the bread was still partly frozen and the soup was on the colder side of warm. No lifeguard at poolside, kids being allowed to jump in the pool. The dinner menu could be better for the guests that choose to add on dinner before they arrive, the menu changed from the morning to the evening. The staff seemed to be trying their best as there was a party on at the same time. The hairdryer in the room was not connected, had to get a spare. The furniture is dated in the rooms.
Breakfast was nice, a good choice of hot & cold, swimming pool, Sauna & Steam room were good, Room was warm.
