breakfast and evening meal were beautiful and very fairly priced. the room was stunning, classic and modern all in one. personal favourite was the bath. it was huge and very relaxing to help wind down

I don’t feel the cleanliness was up to the standard it used to be but still really clean, just a bit dusty and still a couple rose petals next to the bath from previous guests, nothing major at all

Didn’t have porridge for breakfast which as we were running Great North Run would have been my preference.

Lovely room. Bed really comfortable & nice & quiet as rooms separate to main restaurant.

Quite dusty in some areas but I'm very ocd when comes to cleaning

CLEARER COMMUNICATION ABOUT THE POTENTIAL OF BEING LOCLED OUT AND DENIED ACCESS TO A ROOM ALREADY PAID FOR AND CHECKED INTO. Staff quote "we thought you might have changed your mind about staying..."

Breakfast was particularly good. Loved the bath in the room.

Really beautiful location, the rooms were gorgeous as was the bathroom. A real little gem of a hotel. We dined next door in the pub which was super handy. We stayed here as we were dropping our son to University in Durham and the Durham hotels were already full. It worked a treat for our son's early timeslot to access his room. Really pleased with our stay, thanks.

Stayed for 2 nights - no water left in the room on the second night.

Fantastic room (Birch) with a great view from the decking/balcony. Staff all very pleasant & helpful. Don’t understand some of the bad reviews. Food excellent & came promptly. Great location for exploring the area.

Location was fantastic, breakfast and evening meals were delicious- the best thing about our stay though was the staff - they were lovely. Loved sitting outside under the heaters too, taking in the views.

Sound proofing needs improvement. We could hear people in both adjoining rooms. Equipment provision in kitchen could be better. Cleaning materials stated as being included but no tea towel or detergent provided - we had to request it. Internal door mat should be provided to prevent "rain paddle". Room floor extremely slippery when raining.

Very large comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Excellent location for visiting Beamish.

When eating in the restaurant service was a bit slow, but food excellent & staff helpful.

The breakfast was lovely, freshly prepared, and a good choice including continental. The location was lovely and grounds well maintained. We were visiting the Beamish Museum, which was only a few minutes drive away.

The accommodation was first class room was amazing and very quirky.. staff were most helpful and both dinner and breakfast was delicious.. Would definitely come again.

Minor issue, ate Sunday lunch (3 courses) found the price extremely reasonable. Did feel however that the mashed potato was instant/frozen or something similar but not freshly prepared, also same opinion of the roast potato. Enjoyed it non the less bit feel the meal would have been improved with freshly prepared products.

Enjoyed all aspect of our stay. Was a night away as a couple for a well needed break from the family routine. Room was exactly as pictures showed, would have loved to stay longer and would return.
