The mattress (even with a nice topper) was too hard.

Great location - I could see the famed twisted spire of St Mary's and All Saints church from my bedroom window.

The bathroom although very clean was a bit tired. The hotel is situated near to a very busy roundabout that you have to cross to get into town

Had trouble throughout stay with room key cards not working,and although staff did redo them every time, the constant up n down from room to reception was annoying. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful but didn't actually apologise for the problem. Room could have done with a bit more care and attention to the cleaning: few hairs on show walls, TV smeared, and the kettle buttons were pretty grubby.

The toilet didn’t work, there was a burnt hole in the wallpaper where the light had faced it and it had caught alight previously. I could hear all the other people in other rooms and they were not considerate or quiet. There was a vile and distinct smell of cigarette throughout the halls and the lift and I needed to put on a scented candle in the room as this smelt too. There was not thick enough bedding to keep my grandma warm and there was none extra at the time however they did provide warmer bedding the next day.

The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Accommodating and kind, I can not fault them and they were a pleasure to be around. The hotel is in a central and convenient place and had free parking. The beds were comfortable.

Smell of cigarettes. Come in to the room first time window open and is was cold. Turn the heater on but still feel cold a bit. Found man’s boxer under the bed.

Short distance from town centre and theatre, coffee tea available downstairs all the time for free, windows triple glazed to cut out traffic noise, warm room, simple effective decor. Ironing room was good idea.

It would have been good to have good decaffeinated coffees and teas available. The heating in the room only worked when the fob was in the slot upon entering the room, so initially the room was cold. The bed was very firm. I have slept in comfier beds.

The location was good for us. We could walk to the railway station.

Some road noise

Very good breakfast. Location suited our needs. There is a major intersection to be crossed when walking to town centre. Great care needed to crosss it

The hotel was easy to find and was central to the town which was what I wanted. The downside is that to actually walk to just about any part of town involved crossing busy major roads and traversing road barriers and cross-over bridges which was not very much fun but obviously that was nothing the hotel could do anything about. Other than that it was ideal and the breakfast was good also.

Unfortunately on our last night, another guest near us was smoking marijuana and the smell just filled our room.
