Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing, we enjoyed out stay
Easy pick up from a few doors along from the apartment, 24 hour reception. Location was excellent, just along from Hyde Park with two nearby tube stations (Queensway 5 mins walk and Bayswater 3min walk). It took 10-15 minutes to get to the centre of London. The apartment was on the 2nd floor, it was small but roomy enough for 3 people. Ours had a balcony and was modern. It's situated parallel to the main street so was quite at night but where there are lots of lovely places to eat and drink as well as KFC, McDonalds, Burger King and Subway. A small and large Tesco express were nearby too.

MalaysiaWe requested for a hair dryer on our 2nd day but never received it. The door / entrance wasn’t great as the tiles was broken, needed a hard push to open the door.
All the main attractions were just close by with easy access of two different underground. Hyde park was in walking distance. Room cleaning service was great. Overall, good stay!

GermanyThe floor tiles were loose. There is a lot of noise if you open the window (because of a construction). If you close the window, the room gets really hot inside. (it was the last flor, avoid it if possible) Lot of stairs. The first time I came, I got a way better room. That is why I chose this place again, but I am a little bit disappointed.
The staff is really friendly. They kept our luggage safe because our flight departed in the night, that was nice. The room has everything one could need.

BulgariaRun down apartments - especially given the price! Broken furniture (see photos). The stove is a fire hazard - with buttons adapted from another model that make it impossible to tell when it's on or off. The staff has an attitude which makes me think that the greedy property owner is taking advantage of them - instead of at least paying them enough given the ridiculously high price guests are paying.
Excellent location. Very basic amenities. Fairly clean.

Netherlandsthe mattress is way too thin and the bed crooked so one or both people in it keep rolling to the middle. the kitchen was huge, but only contained a minimum of crockery. shower was hard to regulate: either way too cold or way too hot. room was also way too hot, but I guess that wasn’t the establishment’s fault (there was a heatwave) and a fan was at least provided. bottom of table and bottom of drawers were broken: clearly these rooms have seen better days
perfectly situated close to two tube stops, buses, supermarkets and parks. microwave and fridge very convenient, room was clean and staff very friendly

Hong KongThe room was very warm during summer because it is facing south west. One window couldn't hold up so I was able to open one window only. Fan was provided couldn't get the outside cool wind into the room. There were few exhaust ventilation from the restaurants in Queensway, which were quite noisy and they only turned off after 11pm and turned on again in the morning.
Very clean and the location is perfect. You can walk to places like V&A museum, Kensington, Nottinghill, Paddington, Bond Street etc.

Close to public transportation both bus and Tube stations. Rose the receptionist was able to meet most of our needs. She gave us fan when hot and gave extra chairs when we asked for them. The hot water from the taps were good, running well and hot enough.

GreeceNot even one hook on the bathroom walls, didn't know where to hang our wet towels. The towels provided are only 1 per person!! I had to ask for some extra, cause I refuse to use the same towel for body, hair, hands and face, all at the same time!! No bedside lamp, if one wants to read while the other wants to sleep there is no way to do that as the only lights in the room are the spotlights on the ceiling. No daily cleaning but at least they should collect the trash. The double bed, was not a bed at all! It was just a mattress placed on top of some sort of boxes! Worst of all, we found 3 cockroaches!!! I mentioned it to the reception. One should expect a room change, but that didn't happen.
The location was perfect, very close to Bayswater and Queensway metro stations. Lots of shops, restaurants, supermarkets nearby. The street where the rooms are situated is quiet. I'm a light sleeper and didn't have any problem with noises from passing cars. Wi-fi was good. The people at the reception were kind and helpful.

PortugalIt feels very badly though or that they did the minimum to have the room rentable. The curtains are really awful, it won’t block any sun and at 7am your bedroom is already entirely lighted. Cleaning wise it could also be better, the bathroom mostly. There were molds on the wall that seemed was at least two month since it was cleaned properly. I also found weird that they ask you for a 200£ deposit, even after you had payed in advance, but they returned the deposit in a day, so no issue there. Last, the kitchen was very well equipped, but I would change half of what was there for a coffee machine, any type. Not being able to brew a coffee in the morning is quite sad.
The location is amazing, you’re really close to the Hyde Park, with multiple options around to eat and drink. Public transportation is also great around there, multiple subways stations and bus stop in a 200 meters range. The hotel was also not really busy and we didn’t have any issue with neighbors or noisy rooms, but I was lucky enough to stay at the last floor, can’t guarantee the one below would be the same.
