It was good to have the car parking facility at the hotel, though I felt the cost was high.

Excellent location, beautiful building and interior.

    I can't fault this hotel.

The hotel is in a beautiful Grade II listed building. The room was excellent - very nicely furnished and a decent size. The bathroom was lovely, with a really good walk-in rain shower. Breakfasts are served in a fabulous room, all beautifully laid out, and there was plenty of choice. Public areas were clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful

The lighting in the bedroom was a bit patchy and the pillows were lumpy

Lovely room with large TV, fantastic bathroom and amazing shower. Great extras including complementary drinks in the fridge. Lots of space. Huge comfy bed. What's not to like?

The restaurant wasn't very good at all. I ordered a medium cooked ribeye steak which was £32 it came with a small portion of chips and didn't look value for money at all. It wasn't cooked well either. I didn't finish it as it was raw half way through. The staff understood my problem and tried to sort it out for me.

The staff are amazing so friendly nad helpful

Our room was lovely but there was a loud (kitchen?) fan that rumbled away until quite late and then started up again quite early. It didn’t spoil the enjoyment of the stay.

Very central in Durham, perfect for visiting our son at uni. Restaurant was lovely, beautiful room and delicious food. Very impressive interiors, the main stairway is gorgeous.
