Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Very central and quiet location. Staff was very well trained, professional and friendly. Room and bathroom were modern and clean, had all the amenities and small touches, very nice York-themed decor. Really enjoyed the York chocolate bar. Breakfast buffet was also good, with the option to order coffee and hot food from the menu. From the price we got, one of the best hotels I've stayed in, really good value. Would come back again.

United KingdomThe sign went up in reception "car park now full" a couple of times and when I returned from a trip out, maybe 5 O'clock, I sqeezed in to one last space, that maybe wasn't even a legitimate space. My dislike is that after paying in advance I would have expected a guaranteed parking spot. It suggested to me that the hotel over sells spaces, there are only 30-31 spots.
The Breakfast selection was very good and as I always have the full breakfast I can confirm that I was very happy with the "Full Yorkshire" black pudding and gorgeous sausages especially. The room was a great, the bed very comfy and the cherry on the top, was a beautiful shower, always expected but so welcome when the hotel delivers. EXCELLANT location, the street the hotel is in leads straight in to the main centre, the first junction after a 5 minute walk is the Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate sign post and Shambles. But even on this short walk, there are so many great places to eat and such a selection.

Room was lovely l, exactly as pictured. Very clean, staff very friendly. We had an issue with the shower water not draining, but after speaking to reception, it was responded to promptly. Breakfast was spot on and well worth paying extra for. Lovely complimentary chocolate, shortbread, water, tea/coffee(yorkshire tea bags- decaff too), hot chocolate & slippers. Despite being central- very quite at night- so many places to eat and traditional pubs

United KingdomPrice for parking for two.nights was £30 - a little steep.
The room was very spacious, even with the addition of a single bed for our son. The bathroom was spotless with a full-size bath and a walk-in shower. The room had everything you could need and felt like we were staying at a much 'higher end' hotel. The accommodation is 5 minutes walk from the centre of York and there are plenty of smaller shops and restaurants on the doorstop. Breakfast was delicious and the choices were wide and plentiful. The main positive for us were the staff - all were friendly, polite and worked hard. I would highly recommend this hotel and would like to pass on a huge thank you for a fantastic stay!

United KingdomMainly just the expensive breakfast . I chose the hot breakfast for £10 as it was £20 to have hot and cold on check in and there were only two options I liked. I went for the full English but it was just one of everything and when I asked for certain things removing there was no offer of replacements to be added instead, plus it was only like warm when it came out. Only one slice of toast as well. I just expected a little bit more.
