How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room was above the pub. It had live music until midnight, which there was no information about on their website. We stayed with two young children so if I had known, we would not have booked it. Also it would have been great if the room included complimentary water.
Extremely spacious clean family room and bathroom, with comfortable beds/mattress/pillows/bedding. In an excellent location yet very little traffic noise.

Missed the milk in the room on 1st night but was provided when I asked and provided on all other nights.
all very good, hotel easy to find and in the centre of the town - Use Cutty Sark as the nearest UnderGround on the DLR

I would specifically ask for a third floor room if staying again. On the first floor, we could hear the bar patrons downstairs a little more than we could have wished.
The room was well appointed, clean and pretty. It could use a second chair!

Unfortunately our room was quite cold, I turned the heating up but never got warm, that was the only problem we had, we were in a rush to get ready, thinking the heating would come on at a specific time, but never did, and still cold when we got back from our night out.
The location was great and close to the amenities, would come again.

Fluffy towels - towels were a bit hard and thin - but this is a minor point
Breakfast - would work better if was always help Yourself to things like cereal/fruit etc rather than just drinks

The hotel is OK, but 4* is maybe not the right level: bathroom acces in one of the room was not so easy, last day morning no acces to our room after breakfast.
One of the room with humidity near the windows. But we inform the staff and get an other room . Staff accept to keep our luggage before checking in !

I got back from the O2 Gig Simply Minds later than expected 2300hr on the dot ,Bar was closing Staff were cleaning up, and i was refused a Beer
Great location for what i wanted good access to the O2. Breakfast was Ok although I feel they could have given me a full button mushroom ,I got halve of one lol' Bar man excellent. The Room was really Good , spacious clean and well supplied every thing was good I would certainly book again

Great location in Greenwich, close to transport and attractions such as the market, Cutty Sark and the Observatory Charming pub, well renovated while maintaining the charm Decent food for breakfast

One thing that I would really appreciate is a mini fridge and a safe. Traveling to a big city its always great to have some extra water bottles and somewhere to lock in your personal belongings.
I really liked that it was a quite small hotel with not many rooms. The location was also great, short walking distance to markets, shops, restaurants and the DLR station.

Breakfast was poor. Fortunately the staff made up for it.

Fabulous little gem in Greenwich the staff and management couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful and the whole place was spotless. We stayed for four nights and paid for breakfast which was really lovely an issue with the food on one morning was dealt with immediately to everyone's satisfaction by the Manager this was our second stay at the Mitre and hopefully not our last..special mention for lovely Laura thank you

Excellent central location. Room for 3 people was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower good. Breakfast was enjoyable.

I would have liked water in the room (ideally filtered in reusable glass bottles).
Well located, friendly & welcoming staff, clean room & good facilities. Also we ate dinner here and were very happy with the quality, the service & the value for money of our meal.

The accommodation was excellent apart from One thing...the water for the shower was tepid at best. I thought it may have been an evening issue (with guests using up the water before 9pm) but at 5am the water was still just about warm.
