Breakfast bacon and square sausage were both well over cooked. Bacon was like leather. Fresh items did come out. It was too late for us as we had eaten.

Cosy, warm, and comfortable Inn. Beautiful, christmass atmosphere. All staff friendly and approachable. Will return.

The only thing we didn't like was the carpet in the room - I picked lots of hairs. Not sure if they didn't hoover prior our arrival or their vacuum cleaner is not powerful enough to lift balls of hairs from the carpet.

Nice place to stay for a short trip. Staff was friendly, big and clean bathroom. Very handy that the bar is open all night, in case you want to get down and have drink.

The weather..

Staff very friendly and helpful, our room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was what you would expect from a low cost hotel and plenty of it. The location was fabulous you walked out of the hotel straight onto the bus stop which took you right into the heart of the city.

Probably a separate reception for check in, it's a bit unclear when you arrive where to go. You can see that the bar staff (who were excellent btw) running check in while also running a busy dinner service is not ideal.

Room had very little storage for clothes, no wardrobe, just hangers on a pole ☹️☹️

Location, on a bus route for access into Edinburgh. Different type of shops in close proximity and also for Edinburgh zoo, 10 minute walk.

Nothing we didn’t like

Location was great for us. Cheaper than staying in the centre and excellent bus service just outside of the hotel. Airport bus stopped just down the road from the hotel and staff also very helpful and held our bags for a few hours after we checked out.

Very easy check in and check out, breakfast could be paid for online with our booking for overall cheaper than paying there, and yummy. No prepayment. Very friendly staff. Comfy bed. Bus stop right outside that takes you to the central edinburgh.

Was looking forward to the little body lotion toiletry (smells lush) usually get them at innkeepers lodge but not at this one. The bed was closed in and next to the wall - which means you have to wake up your partner to get out and obviously no side table to put a drink on. Still fine for one night though - the friendly staff made it worthwhile.

The staff are lovely. Very friendly and festive! The room was clean, comfortable and warm. Easy to get into city centre with the bus stop being right outside. The food at Toby Carvery is delicious.

On a couple of days we were back to the hotel early and wanted to just relax with the tv on and it was lacking the majority of basic channels. This is more of a nit pick and not the end of the world

The room was clean and well laid out. The staff were very friendly. We saw Angela and Simone every morning for breakfast who weee both very nice and welcoming. Kieran made the check in procedure quick and easy. The property was close to the zoo which is also a massive plus

Everything was fine for me.

I am a returning guest and know Edinburgh well. The Toby location is ideal for public transport to get into the city and onward public transport needs eg bus connections, tram stop and train station at Haymarket. My room was comfortable and I was issued any extra or other items that were available eg extra pillow, towels, cofffee mug etc.. I did not eat breakfast at the Toby this visit as ventured into the city for 'haggis rolls'.

I do not recommend room 206. there was an irregular noise during the night probably from the air conditioning room adjacent to the room. It wasn't that loud, but disturbing in the stillness of the night.

Perfect place for sightseeing in Edinburg. Excellent rooms. Perfect breakfast. Free parking.
