Although a carvery,would be nice to have a little more choice at mealtimes. If staying several days,don’t want same meal all the time. Perhaps a cottage pie,or a pastry pie would be good. Ditto with breakfast,seemed only full Scottish or cereal and toast.

Lovely relaxing stay. Everything fine. Staff helpful and friendly,especially Donna who always excelled. Buses to the centre of Edinburgh stop outside and very regular. Nice room,big bathroom. No need to look elsewhere for future visits.

The toilet seat came off frequently. We were not told that the towels we got on check in were the only ones we would get for our stay. The shower design allows water to escape the shower, so we had to use our towels to dry the floor.

The neighborhood was lovely and the restaurant was fantastic.

The only complaints I have about the room is that the flush of the toilet was not really working. And a bit of a weird smell in the room, but you get used to it. Good value for money overall.

Everything you need for a short stay while exploring Edinburgh. It's a small room but clean, comfortable, and warm, and that's all you need. The shower had good water pressure, which we always appreciate. Friendly staff. Easy commute to city centre and the airport with bus stops just outside the hotel. Breakfast is also passable.

Breakfast bacon and square sausage were both well over cooked. Bacon was like leather. Fresh items did come out. It was too late for us as we had eaten.

The only thing we didn't like was the carpet in the room - I picked lots of hairs. Not sure if they didn't hoover prior our arrival or their vacuum cleaner is not powerful enough to lift balls of hairs from the carpet.

Nice place to stay for a short trip. Staff was friendly, big and clean bathroom. Very handy that the bar is open all night, in case you want to get down and have drink.

The weather..

Staff very friendly and helpful, our room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was what you would expect from a low cost hotel and plenty of it. The location was fabulous you walked out of the hotel straight onto the bus stop which took you right into the heart of the city.

Probably a separate reception for check in, it's a bit unclear when you arrive where to go. You can see that the bar staff (who were excellent btw) running check in while also running a busy dinner service is not ideal.

Location, on a bus route for access into Edinburgh. Different type of shops in close proximity and also for Edinburgh zoo, 10 minute walk.

Nothing we didn’t like

Location was great for us. Cheaper than staying in the centre and excellent bus service just outside of the hotel. Airport bus stopped just down the road from the hotel and staff also very helpful and held our bags for a few hours after we checked out.

No window in bathroom so did get very stuffy.

Very easy check in and check out, breakfast could be paid for online with our booking for overall cheaper than paying there, and yummy. No prepayment. Very friendly staff. Comfy bed. Bus stop right outside that takes you to the central edinburgh.

Was looking forward to the little body lotion toiletry (smells lush) usually get them at innkeepers lodge but not at this one. The bed was closed in and next to the wall - which means you have to wake up your partner to get out and obviously no side table to put a drink on. Still fine for one night though - the friendly staff made it worthwhile.

The staff are lovely. Very friendly and festive! The room was clean, comfortable and warm. Easy to get into city centre with the bus stop being right outside. The food at Toby Carvery is delicious.
