It is too dark to be able to read when sitting on sofa - additional lighting would be great.

There seemed to be a lot of people walking about on the floor above us throughout the night, which was quite disturbing. Otherwise I would have said the room was very quiet

The room and bathroom were a little tired and the bathroom had quite a lot of hairs in the bath, could of been cleaner.

The room was located in the quiet part away from the bar area and function room. The staff were lovely both in reception and the bar area.

Hotel is pretty basic and very outdated. Areas of hotel look worn and old. Some corridors area are freezing cold and room heating pretty basis. Was a cold time, so when you went out and took your key the heating went off …. BRRRRRRR cold room on return!

Parking was plentiful, reception super helpful. Great night sleep as bed was comfy.

Could do with a reverb as decor was a bit dated & tired with a few glue marks on some of bathroom tiles etc so could use a fresh coat of paint etc.

Room was functional & bed comfortable. Was able to cast from my tablet to TV which was great & a nice surprise so could watch my own stuff on the bigger screen.

The fan in the bathroom was super noisey so I ended up not turning the light on as I couldnt deal with how loud it was!!

The staff were really friendly and helpfull and the food was what you would expect from a harvester, cheap and chearfull. I liked the fact that you could control the heating in your own room too often nowdays thats not a thing! Nice comfy base if your visiting portsmouth.

The hotel is a little faded, but perfectly okay for a stop before using the ferry.

Returned late evening on the ferry from Spain so the 24 hour reception and check in was very good. The room was quiet, warm (February) and clean and was just what we needed for a good sleep before driving home the following morning. Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was great and good value ( but don't bother booking the £9 breakfast as its the same price if you pay after eating, and there are cheaper menu options if required.) Free parking in the hotel car park was useful.

The room needed updating, stains on the carpet, the curtain rail was hanging off one end. The shower curtain fell down and maintenance was requested and fixed very quickly, but although they were told about the curtain rail it never got fixed. They never changed the duvet cover at all in the 7 days, we know this because there was a mark on it and it was there all week. The tea and coffee was never filled up. There was still hair in the sink afer they had supposed to have cleaned the room. The whole hotel needs updating, doors were dirty, carpet worn ect. Could be a beautiful place to stay, great location. The owner just needs to get out there and take these reviews seriously as it looks like the hotel is in serious decline.

The Staff were very nice and helpful, the restaurant and bar was very clean and the staff there very good. And the meals are excellent.

Room was way too hot. No instructions for heating or the tv which was set to mute. No in room food menu. Food I ordered to my room didnt arrive and I had to call Reception to ask for it. When the food did arrive it was cold and part of the mixed grill tasted off.

For the amount of time I stayed and time spent in the Hotel I didn't get much experience to base a comment on suffice to say that the Reception Staff were great. giving us a warm welcome.

The accommodation appeared to be clean, tidy and well organised. I was not keen to see the twin room beds pushed against the room heaters Giving me concerns for fire safety I think , also the floors seem to be suffering from Divots across the room, presenting Trip Hazards. looks like subfloor issues have been covered up by the Carpet Apart from that no problems.
