How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The carpet was threadbare and we had to log into the WiFi a few times.
The twin room had a bath and the beds were comfortable.

The decor was rather jaded. the radiator didn't work. The soap holders in the bathroom had clearly been pulled off the wall and not replaced or repaired. The carpet was motheaten in several places.
The room was clean as was the bedlinen and towels

Room smelt of smoke. Breakfast was average at best.
Good VFM, right next door to a pub with pool tables and a dart board. Very friendly staff. Free parking. Good shower.

Room very shabby. Bathroom even worse. Shower was poor.
We arrived very late and as breakfast finished at 9.00 did not have any Staff very friendly and helpful as we had problems at Customs and did not arrive till 11.00

Although our room was very clean and everything functioned well, the decor and bathroom were very tired and there were lots of unpleasant looking stains on the carpet. In general we felt the hotel was in need of refurbishment and updating, i.e. there were no USB in the wall sockets to enable charging of phones/computers which we would have expected. There were several "blown" double glazing windows, in our room and other public areas. There could have been more signage within the hotel directing you to the restaurant as it was quite confusing finding your way around, however staff were helpful in directing us when we found them.
Bed was very comfortable. Room size was generous, and the staff were very helpful and engaging. We were made to feel welcome by everyone we came into contact with. Plenty of free parking. Food was excellent value and good with very good prompt service. We were asked on several occasions about allergies when attending the restaurant which was reassuring.

Clean comfortable, friendly and spacious

I've used this hotel for 3 nights, I've just been diagnosed with liver failure so wanted to be alone to sort my head out. On the final night my bedroom light kept flickering, the bath tap kept dripping, and noisy people banging doors etc. I would of gone to complain but was in so much pain and also very upset with the news I was given. I think my last stay was 67.00 and for what I got with tap etc, not very happy. I'm very poorly and back in hospital again and would really appreciate a quick response.
The bed was very comfy.

A little dated but generally OK. Lack of sockets for charging appliances.
This hotel is attached to a really good value restaurant with good quality and cheap . Large rooms. Only fault is lack of sockets near to bed to charge computer and phones

Breakfast was poor. Fruit wasn’t prepared and all looked a bit sad. Croissants were dry and no butter only sunflower spread.Filter coffee was awful. Machine coffee and improvement.
Lovely large room. Easy access from the port after arriving from Santander late evening. Staff really helpful.

The televisions in he rooms could do with being upgraded to smart tv’s.
Location is great, Dani who was working in the Bar & Restaurant was exceptional, was under a lot of pressure due to staff shortages but went out of her way to make all the customers feel special.

It is too dark to be able to read when sitting on sofa - additional lighting would be great.
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast. Room as large and sofa and bed were comfortable.
