Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyRoom and bed were very small - we could barely fit our suitcases in… :-D
Isle of Raasay is beautiful and definitely worth the ferry ride. It‘s a great way to combine an overnight stay with a whisky tasting and distillery tour. The 3-course dinner menu at the hotel restaurant as well as the breakfast were delicious. We stayed in room 5 which I guess is the smallest but it has all what‘s required for a short stopover… The tasting and distillery tour is for obernight guests free, which we did’t know at first but the hotel refunded the prebooked tours… the staff and tour guide were very passionate and friendly. It was a hreat experience! We would recommend it to everyone travelling around isle of skye…

United KingdomDinner was compromised by a large group enjoying a whiskey tasting, not offensive just odd as there was not enough room. (do not trust a sat nav- check on a map if travelling from Glasgow)
Great location, great staff.

United KingdomThere isn't anything to dislike.
The location is spectacular, with views over the estuary. The welcome was so friendly and the rooms incredibly comfortable and luxurious. The complimentary whisky went down a treat. Anything you needed, you just had to ask. The food...sublime! Possibly the best meal we've ever had, served by a very courteous and knowledgeable young man. We enjoyed every second of our stay!

United Statescheck out is on the earlier side but only by a bit.
We LOVED it here! Such a gem! Fantastic facilities and rooms with great amenities. It’s a super special hotel as you’re not only staying at the distillery but there are only six rooms (currently). So it’s a wonderfully quiet/restful stay on a peaceful island…with whiskey! Also, pretty sure the chef is secretly Master Michelin chef. As most people leave the island on the last ferry, there was only us, the locals, and the Raasay crew at the bar-and talking to the people who stayed was a special memory for us. We’ll be back.

The view is absolutely breathtaking Waking up every morning to those mountains was so peaceful. It was some of the best food I had the whole vacation! Cocktails too! And the staff were so kind and accommodating. Even marking out trails for us to hike.

FranceThe staff were very nice to us - special shout out to "Mama Joe" - a fluent french speaker- who did to us the Distillery tour and made it so interesting. The tour is included in the stay by the way so don't hesitate to do it. The place was very clean and welcoming in every way, the breakfast was good and the establishment has the best view on the sea separating it from Skye, where we had the chance to see some Dolphins. The price is a little high but we 100% recommand it as it was the best place we stayed in during our Scottish trip.

ThailandThe single bed for 2 person is too small, if you are traveling with friend, it can be a bit uncomfortable as the room itself is quite small.
Cosy and chill place to stay. When you walk-in, it feel like home or a home away from home. Staff are very friendly, helpful and supportive.

United KingdomBed on casters wasn't fixed so a bit annoying putting on rubber blocks. Pity dinner is restricted to weekends if accomodation is available through the week, at least a limited menu should be on offer. These are minor feedback comments overall though.
Excellent breakfast. Location and accomodation super. Relaxing. Staff very helpful. Free dram in room was a nice touch

IsraelStaying in Raasay is interesting, the hotel is beautiful but pay attention to the ferry schedule! It had implications on the schedule I would suggest serving breakfast half an hour earlier so the visitors can enjoy it fully yet able to catch the 08:55 ferry
At first I hadn't realized that the hotel is not at Skye but on another island, which requires a ferry . It made me so nervous that I almost booked another hotel. Thank god, nothing else was available. Raasay and the Distillery is one of the best places we ever stayed in! The hotel is beautiful! Charming and warm. The view from our room was breathtaking, the room was modern and beautifully furnished. Staying on an isolated island is an amazing experience. We met a few members of the team and they were all super friendly, welcoming and had a lot of patience for our endless questions about the isle, the habitants, the roads, the sights, etc. I wish we had time to stay longer. Breakfast was very good, tasty and assorted. The restaurant has a huge glass window facing the sea. The scenery is so beautiful that we couldn't care less about the food :-)

United Statesmy stay was perfect!
Hotel is modern, new and beautifully decorated. The staff was very nice. I was impressed with the dinner because it was a fixed 6 meal course and all the dishes were worthy of a fine dining experience. They also gave me a tour to the distillery and explained the whiskey process. The tour is free/included with the stay. I really loved my stay in this hotel.
