Long wait for evening meal due to "a breakdown in communications" was an unexpected setback.

Pod for 50th Wedding celebration was excellent. The pod waiters Franscesca and Sam were very good indeed. The staff were excellent all round. Receptionist even carried our cases to upstair rooms. Then the location was superb.

Roads to get there were 'interesting'. Evening meal took longer than I'd hoped to appear, but was good when it did

Bathroom was clean but could have been better, especial attention to plugholes, full of hair stopping water draining away. Also, the sash window needs some TLC there were spider webs and trapped insects.

Bedroom carpet was grubby, as was some of the furniture in the lounges. There are a few chairs and couches that look dreadful. This gives the property a tired and neglected look. One biscuit packet and tea bags per room is mean.

The history and features of building; room size; bed was very comfortable; food good; measures taken to avoid plastic waste (e.g. marmalade dispenser, soap dispensers).

No lift and room was on the top floor.

Warm and friendly welcome. We booked a Privilege Room, which was spacious and comfortable. Also very clean. Beautiful view of the lake and beyond! Excellent evening meal and breakast.

The absents of a lift was a challenge. Even though our room was very large the space to put away clothing was extremely limited and meant we were living out of our suit cases. There was a limited hanging area but difficult to access and no draw space apart from two very shallow draws in the desk. There was plenty of room to put adequate storage.

the room was large and had a nice view. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and would give them 10/10. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. We had dinner the first night and my friend has an allergy to garlic which the staff noted and the meal was very good. We would consider staying again.

Unfortunately we couldn’t arrive in time for dinner in the restaurant so were limited to the bar menu which was pretty basic fare.

Friendly enough and a spacious room, pleased to get a nice place that is dog friendly at the last minute.

Some of the breakfast food had been cooked for a while eg the black pudding and was dry and hard. The bed was hard. The disadvantage of not getting your room cleaned is that you run out of tea, milk, sugar, tissues etc

Was like a maze to find the room. The carpets and bathrooms need a bit of an update all seem a bit dated

The receptionist on arrival was wonderful. She really was such a bubbly person and after a long journey it’s a real help. Bar and restaurant area was also very nice. The room was enough, bed was huge and very comfortable. Great hotel
