Shabby and old fashioned, this place is in desperate need of a refurbishment….I’m guessing everything gets cleaned but due to sad state of the interior, it gives impression of being grubby. Weirdly has a feeling of 1950’s boarding house… (from what I’ve seen in the movies anyway).

The bed was comfortable and with the bus stop just outside, easy enough to get into Brighton.

The room could do with a nice comfortable armchair to sit on while you watch the television.

Excellent receptionist on duty when I arrived. Nice bathroom. Nice stand to put your suitcase on. Nice closet to hang your clothes in.

It was difficult to get hot water in the bathroom even after running the tap for some time. Some of the main channels on the tv did not function properly.

The member of staff at reception on our arrival was exceptional. As it was a Bank Holiday, nearly all eating venues in the area were closed. She did some online research & presented us with a hand written list of possible places to eat & their opening times.

It's a bit dated, but that is reflected in the price.

Budget hotel in Brighton with parking which is a rarity. We ended up having to change dates and the hotel were very accommodating. Friendly staff on reception. Room was clean with everything we needed

Stayed during a heatwave and the place was baking hot. First room had no hot water and then the next room I was moved to smelled of cigarettes.

I could’ve been electrocuted by the hair dryer as the back fell off (it was stuck on with tape) and all the wires were exposed. The room was very hot and could’ve done with a fan. There was no delivery at breakfast time.

Bed was comfortable and it had everything that was needed for a one night stay. The bus stop outside is handy and takes you straight into the city centre.

Poor water pressure of the shower (dribble) The room was exceptionally hot and no fan was provided. Breakfast was continental only.

The room was satisfactory and clean. There was bus stop right outside the hotel which was very convenient.

A nice hotel with spacious rooms - a last minute booking

The reception staff - a lady with a foreign accent seemed a bit terse and impatient with me when she was trying to explain where things were, and I couldn’t quite see where she meant, at first - I had trouble with her accent. I had driven a very long way, and was very tired. She said that I wasn’t listening. I told her that I had listened fine, but I was very tired, having driven a lot of miles that day, and asked her to please be patient with me. Later on she was kind and offered me use of a fan for the bedroom, should I need it. I was very grateful for that as it made a lot of difference. I wasn’t asked if I’d like breakfast in the morning. There was a sign which told you about it and how much it was, though. I was happy to have breakfast on the seafront, in the end. It was nice by the beach and much cheaper than if I’d had it at the hotel. The hotel had a bit of an impersonal feel to it. It wasn’t clear where the main bar was. I could only see the reception area and the upstairs rooms. There wasn’t always someone at reception if you had any questions. For just the one night, however it was only meant to be a base, so it was fit for purpose.

I got a last minute booking to the Preston Hotel, so I was pleased to have managed to book somewhere for the night at short notice. The room was spacious and had a good size en suite bathroom. It was clean and neutral in decor. There was a portable fan available, which I appreciated a lot, as it was very hot. The bathroom was light and airy with a bath and shower unit. The hotel itself was a good walk from Brighton’s town centre. It was easy enough to find parking in the town, and there was also parking available for customers at the hotel. On the whole a pleasant stay, however I only stayed for one night, to break up a long journey.
