Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe recently stayed at Eco Cottage Joe the Buck, and it was an unforgettable experience for our family. The hospitality of Glacie and Trevor made us feel like extended family from the moment we arrived. They introduced the children to many of the animals on the farm, and since it was lambing season, the kids even got to help feed the lambs. It was a magical experience for them! The cottage itself had everything we could possibly need and more. It was cozy and well-equipped with a wonderful fireplace, plenty of books and DVDs, all the necessary kitchen utensils for home-cooked meals, and an abundance of blankets to keep us warm and comfortable. The games room was fabulous with a dart board, snooker table, ping pong table, and foosball table, providing endless entertainment for everyone. This place is an absolute gem, and Glacie and Trevor truly make it come alive with their warm and welcoming presence. We really hope to be able to return soon and experience their wonderful hospitality again. Highly recommended!

United KingdomWe liked everything but it’s important if you’re travelling in a group that you’re comfortable with one another as the floorboards are very thin.
Loved the remote nature of the property! It was a very cosy stay.

Brilliant but very isolated location so don't book unless you have a hardy vehicle that doesn't mind badly made roads and tracks

United KingdomWe found this lovely cottage very comfortable for three people. We hadn't stayed in an eco cottage before, but there was always hot water for a shower. There were extra blankets provided and a wood fire already made up ready to light, in case the evening turned chilly. The cottage is in a stunning location, tucked away in the countryside so it's perfect for a walking holiday exploring the area, but not far from the village of Clun for conveniences. Our lovely, friendly host Gleice was so helpful and just a phone call away for any questions. We would definitely come again.

United KingdomBeautiful location with amazing views. It is on the top of the hill, very quiet and still lots to do. Going for a walk, playing table tennis, billard, darts and football table. Children can watch or help feeding farm animals. A Barbeque is available and you can buy some meat from Trevor. Just make sure to do food shopping on your way as the nearest shop is about 25- 30 mins drive and the road is narrow. I nearly forgot! I could see the night sky and few shooting stars as the sky was very clear! Absolutely great, relaxing holiday!

United KingdomThe location and views were lovely. Lots of castles to visit in the area - Powis castle has lots of activities for children and Stokesay castle is just beautiful (medieval architecture). We also went to Spaceguard Centre (in Knighton) where they protect us from incoming asteroids and comets...very interesting tour. We managed two BBQ's at the cottage when the weather was really good. Loved the fact that the cottage was powered by solar and the little wind turbine. Thoroughly recommend this cottage if you are okay with a remote peaceful area. Definitely need a car. Games room is good for kids.

United KingdomHeads were hurt by bashing them on the low door to the main bedroom, and some blood was drawn on the corner of the box protruding from the ceiling in the room.
The location is beyond stunning. Cottage is cosy, has everything you might need, and the fireplace was a beautiful extra. Power supply from the windmill and solar panels was more than sufficient. We loved everything about the place and can't wait to come back!
