We recently stayed at Eco Cottage Joe the Buck, and it was an unforgettable experience for our family. The hospitality of Glacie and Trevor made us feel like extended family from the moment we arrived. They introduced the children to many of the animals on the farm, and since it was lambing season, the kids even got to help feed the lambs. It was a magical experience for them! The cottage itself had everything we could possibly need and more. It was cozy and well-equipped with a wonderful fireplace, plenty of books and DVDs, all the necessary kitchen utensils for home-cooked meals, and an abundance of blankets to keep us warm and comfortable. The games room was fabulous with a dart board, snooker table, ping pong table, and foosball table, providing endless entertainment for everyone. This place is an absolute gem, and Glacie and Trevor truly make it come alive with their warm and welcoming presence. We really hope to be able to return soon and experience their wonderful hospitality again. Highly recommended!

We liked everything but it’s important if you’re travelling in a group that you’re comfortable with one another as the floorboards are very thin.

Loved the remote nature of the property! It was a very cosy stay.

Toilet blocked up but was fixed by the lovely Trevor ASAP

Brilliant but very isolated location so don't book unless you have a hardy vehicle that doesn't mind badly made roads and tracks

Weather could have been better, but you can't pre-order that

Breakfast was lovely, set us up for a good three hour walk. all home produced as well. The location is great, no traffic, street lights, noisy neighbours. Just what we were looking for.

We found this lovely cottage very comfortable for three people. We hadn't stayed in an eco cottage before, but there was always hot water for a shower. There were extra blankets provided and a wood fire already made up ready to light, in case the evening turned chilly. The cottage is in a stunning location, tucked away in the countryside so it's perfect for a walking holiday exploring the area, but not far from the village of Clun for conveniences. Our lovely, friendly host Gleice was so helpful and just a phone call away for any questions. We would definitely come again.

Beautiful location with amazing views. It is on the top of the hill, very quiet and still lots to do. Going for a walk, playing table tennis, billard, darts and football table. Children can watch or help feeding farm animals. A Barbeque is available and you can buy some meat from Trevor. Just make sure to do food shopping on your way as the nearest shop is about 25- 30 mins drive and the road is narrow. I nearly forgot! I could see the night sky and few shooting stars as the sky was very clear! Absolutely great, relaxing holiday!

The location and views were lovely. Lots of castles to visit in the area - Powis castle has lots of activities for children and Stokesay castle is just beautiful (medieval architecture). We also went to Spaceguard Centre (in Knighton) where they protect us from incoming asteroids and comets...very interesting tour. We managed two BBQ's at the cottage when the weather was really good. Loved the fact that the cottage was powered by solar and the little wind turbine. Thoroughly recommend this cottage if you are okay with a remote peaceful area. Definitely need a car. Games room is good for kids.

Heads were hurt by bashing them on the low door to the main bedroom, and some blood was drawn on the corner of the box protruding from the ceiling in the room.

The location is beyond stunning. Cottage is cosy, has everything you might need, and the fireplace was a beautiful extra. Power supply from the windmill and solar panels was more than sufficient. We loved everything about the place and can't wait to come back!

Smaller inside than anticipated, and further from the villages. Bring your supplies with you! Bear in mind that the fridge is smallish and no freezer.

Friendly people lovely countryside comfortable rooms and nice hot shower! And an unexpected bonus of a games room in a separate building! Great sausages, bacon and lamburgers, do try the meat and eggs!

The cottage was cosy and comfortable, it was exactly what I was looking for. The cottage is tucked away in the Shropshire Hills and is looking out over beautiful scenery. We was made to feel welcome by Trevor when we arrived. I would highly recommend the eco cottage.

The owners were amazing, nothing too much trouble, allowing my children (and us) to look around the farm and see the animals. The swing was the biggest hit, despite the amazing games room. The whole eco concept was something we loved. We will definitely be back.

    Nothing.

It was the best place for our family New Year's celebration, the cottage has everything you need. The place is beautiful and the landscape is amazing. Our children loved the game room and the fireplace. Trevor the host and owner was incredible, he even let our children feed his farm animals. There are small towns nearby to visit. We will definitely stay here again.
