Lovely feel to the place, felt very private. The food was delicious and the continental breakfast provided for my room as I could not may breakfast was a great touch and much appreciated.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nicely decorated and clean room with a comfortable bed. Big bathroom with really gentle and fragrant toiletries. Quiet, even though near the road. Lots of parking. Breakfast was tasty and plenty of options to choose from. Their restaurant, The Stag, served delicious food!

There is nothing I can think of.

The comfort and friendly atmosphere. Great shower and toiletries. Everything has been considered for your comfort. Towels, gowns, hot drinks, fridge and fresh milk. Iron and board ideal for our wedding prep. Fabulous breakfast with latest sit down at 10am which was ideal for us after a late night/wedding.

Absolutely nothing not to like!

Beautifully maintained property, stunning location. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the rooms were comfortable with a beautiful bathroom, fluffy robes and plentiful hot water. Lovely toiletries provided, too! Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection. I’d also like to mention, the staff were setting up for a wedding on the day of our departure but you would never have known. They were all so calm and organised. There wasn’t a hint of panic. If you are planning on hosting your wedding here, you can rest assured you will be in very safe, calm and capable hands.

All rooms are on the first floor, up a wide staircase, so it may difficult to stay there if you are disabled or struggle up the stairs. I was also a bit concerned on departure as the owners' lovely two young boys were playing with bikes on the car park and were not particularly careful of cars and vans arriving and leaving. The younger one actually rode his bike at me as I was reversing.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel with a small number of exquisite bedrooms that have been updated while maintaining the historical feel of the house. The room included a small fridge which exceeded my expectations and made my stay even more pleasant. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. I had breakfast and dinner there and the food was really good. There are multiple cosy lounges to relax in before and after dinner, including a bar area. It really felt like a home from home. The hotel also benefits from a large car park and is located on a quieter country road, with beautiful open views just outside Derby. I will definitely be back.

The only thing I could ask for is Yorkshire tea. Everything was great.

The Curran room was lovely and comfortable. The doll top bath a delight and the extras of proper milk in the fridge and macaroons.

The room booked had windows both sides of the room, so it was cold despite radiators being on. The window directly into the room on the left could be seen in from the landing, so curtains had to be kept drawn. Bathroom small.

Lovely comfortable room in calm and restful colours, super-comfy bed, luxurious bathroom with roll-top bath, nice toiletries and fluffy towels. A good touch having a small fridge (with fresh milk). Main areas welcoming, clean and fresh, you can tell the owners take pride in its appearance. The most fabulous breakfast cooked to order by the head chef.

What a great place. Beautiful rooms, stunning scenery. Lovey attentive people made you feel really looked after. The food was delicious. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I wish I could find a reason to go back ! The bathrooms were the best I’ve ever been in, better than The Shard IMHO 🙌
