Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Had a great stay at Kier lodge for my mums 70th birthday. The lodge is situated directly by the lake and includes everything you need for a trip away. The hosts were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The facilities on site are within walking distance and very family friendly.

The lodge facilities were exceptional. They had everything we could have needed. We were self catering so didn't use the on-site restaurant at the resort. We did however use the on-site leisure facilities which were great. Swimming, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were excellent. We didn't make use of the gym, or the crazy golf due to weather restrictions. There was a bus stop on site which we used to travel to Ambleside one day. Stagecoach cap their fares to £2 each way which was excellent value and saved having to find parking in this busy town. It was a lovely scenic journey through all the towns and villages.

Absolutely stunning location and the lodge itself was spotlessly clean and had everything you would need and more, they have literally thought of everything. The site is beautiful and clean with a pool, gym, sauna and a bar/function room The site is located perfectly for all the parts of South lakes nearby, worth visiting Kendal, Morecambe, Arnside just for starters, best of all is lazing by the lake outside the Lodge Highly recommended and will 100% be returning

The beautiful view of the lake from the lodge, everything you could need was provided, lovely decor and very clean, so comfortable, the ducks, swans and geese coming up to the lodge patio for us to feed with the food that was provided! A very relaxing break with all the home comforts with a swimming pool, bar and restaurant close by.

United KingdomMe, my partner and his daughter stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful, clean, fully equipped cabin. We have stayed in a number of log cabins but this was by far the best. Stunning views across the lake, clean and comfortable and the site had lots of things to do for kids - swimming, games zone etc. Would love to return again in the future!

United KingdomAlthough Keer was immaculate and superb in every aspect, sadly the same could not be said for the communal areas and the landscaped parts of Pine Lake. The lack of attention and care ( or put another way, the absence of TLC ) was evident, something not seen some 3 or 4 years ago. Some parts of Pine Lake looked decrepit, in fact- but this did not take away from our lovely stay at Keer. Diamond Resorts, please take note.
We liked everything about Keer Lodge- fantastic location, clean, well thought-out layout, attention to detail, all types of crockery and cutlery available, washer, dishwasher, good quality materials throughout, etc, etc. We've been to Pine Lake on 8 occasions now and this has been our best stay yet. As I mentioned to Mark and Trish, the lodge owners, our overall perception was that they really cared about their lodge and were proud to do everything possible to make things as good as they could be. This is an exceptional trait in any segment of the hospitality industry, irrespective of where you are on the planet. Well done....

United KingdomThe Pine Lakes site is situated between the A6 & M6, and a railway runs parallel to the A6, if you look on a map and see this don't let it put you off, there is a little noise from these when sitting outside but not enough to spoil anything, and you really don't notice it at all inside the lodge.
The location of Keer Lodge on the lakeside is beautiful, lovely calming views. The lodge itself is very nicely furnished, and equipped and comfortable, the two patio's allow you to be in the sun almost all of the day, if it's a sunny day ! Water based activities on the lake are fun to watch, and to join in if you're inclined to, but don't disturb the peacefulness of the location. Access to the Lake District is easy, by bus, train or car.
