Hotel was across from Hyde Park and less than 5mins from Bayswater Road. The booked Queen room was clean and comfortable but small for us for 4 nights. Next morning I went to the front desk to check out to move to another hotel as the room size was an issue for us but Rupok was able to convince me to stay and was able to move us to a King room which resolved the issue.

One Lift wasn't working, so it took a long time to get a lift. Arrived before check in and couldn't access restaurant toilet without a keycard. Breakfast seating disorganized- was given a table and when came back with a coffee, another guest had also been seated at same table, despite many others being free.

Location - close to park, access to bus and central London shops convenient, good sized room and bathroom, quiet. Comfortable bed. Not too soft. Breakfast options good. A short walk to Paddington Station and Heathrow Express.

Would be useful to have a magnified mirror for those of us who have bad eye sight! Also, a tray on the side for tea/coffee making to avoid previous guests marking the furniture.

Great location for central London. A couple of minutes walk from Queensway tube station; 5 mins walk from Lancaster Gate. Buses 2 mins walk. Very clean basic rooms. Very comfortable beds, good shower. Ample sized room.. Friendly, efficient staff. Hyde Park opposite the hotel and also walking distance to Kensington Gardens. Good hotel to "lay your head at night" in central location.

Room safe didn't work. I didn't like having to set my table at breakfast. Felt the staff needed better training. The manager was very good but if he wasn't around the staff were unable to resolve any issues

The service charge automatically being added even on a glass of wine in the bar. Although this seemed common everywhere we went. Wine was expensive

I loved the hotel. However I was disappointed it was a NO cash hotel. The girls in the dining room needed training and supervision. The food was delicious

201 Room near lift, and stairwell so fire door kept banging as other residents opened closed plus foot fall on tiled surface near lift lobby: poor room sound proofing meant disturbed sleep.

Hotel facilities limited - bathroom small and desk top/tea making area was all worn and the surface bubbling which needs replacing as does not give a good impression. Also, bar shut at 11pm which we hadn't been told about and getting back from a night out at 11.05pm we were refused a drink as the barman told us he had shut at 11pm. Breakfast not too good as constantly having to search and ask staff for things - they were not very helpful and did not give a good service

The bathroom was never cleaned! The housekeeping let the door open the whole day! It was wide open when we came home at night! The receptionist was very unfriendly when we complained. No remote control for the tv for 2 days. At breakfast they run off glasses, cups, bowls and plates. The red fruit was deep frozen! On the last day the promised take away breakfast boxes were forgotten and I’m waiting to get my money back for breakfast as it was promised…. Didn’t get an answer till now

i had travelled to spend time with my family and had requested 2 adjoining rooms in my booking. On reaching there I was met with an extremely rude and ill mannered duty manager who insisted that no such facility would be granted as the hotel was overbooked. The other staff were willing to accommodate the next day but she reprimanded them too. i checked the hotel website and booking.com at the same time and it showed availability. In all my travels till date the reception has always be forthcoming and really helpful. Cant say the same of the duty manager here. Maybe it was racial discrimination i think.

The location is the biggest plus point of the property. very well connected to the underground and in walking distance of several central london hotspots

We had to pay for an upgrade as on arrival reception informed us that the room was very small and we would be uncomfortable. We had to pay an additional 20 pounds per night for a superior room which was the size of any other normal room.

Room was clean and hotel is will situated. Breakfast was average - we didn't pay for breakfast as part of our booking, but we paid for it on the last day. Lots of coffee shops nearby.

My friend's room had no heating although small, portable heater was provided it wasn't sufficient. No handwash or soap provided in the bathroom, or conditioner or body lotion. Lifts were very small, only two of the three were working, so at busy times like breakfast we used stairs from seventh floor!

Location was ideal for underground stations, shops/restaurants and venues we planned to visit. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bed was super comfortable.

I have stayed for a week at Thistle (King Deluxe room 602). The Hotel is generally (but not always: sometimes there were parties in next room) quiet and clean. Rooms have a good size. Personnel is nice and happy to help: on day 4 of my stay the air-conditioning heating (in March, so cold) went off. I got a radiator to improve heating; that was kind of OK-ish (but not enough for the price of a King Deluxe room). One important thing missing is a little fridge.
