The location was great for seeing the local highlights and a walk down to the beach and wall. Breakfast was good, and the team are friendly. Parking is convenient if not a little cramped

Didn't give you much toilet paper

Breakfast was lovely The location of hotel was perfect. We we right by Gunwharf mall, right by the Warrior warship, stunning views. We walked a few steps and were by fabulous pub. You could walk to the Fish place on the docks and to the pebble beach... ideally located

    Not much really.

The location is excellent. It is close to the railway station, Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Keys. Regarding the hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. I must admit the reception looked a bit like the set of Fawlty Towers, but that just added to the charm of the hotel. My single room was well equipped although rather small. The breakfast was also good value with friendly staff.

More choice of draught beer would be a nice addition in the bar, not everyone likes lager.

This property is directly across the street from the bus terminal and railway station. It’s also close to the Historic Dockyard. The staff were welcoming and the price was reasonable.

Stayed before and the room had a bath which we both liked No bath this time which was a little disappointing Need to request room with a bath next time if available

Stayed here a couple of times before and Like to stay here while in Portsmouth Lovely old hotel and nicely renovated The dining room is unusually attractive displaying some of the history of the hotels grandeur Great position right opposite the Spinaker and the bus and railway station Additional benefit is the nearby private parking area for hotel residents Great food both at night and an exceptional breakfast Would definitely stay again next time we are in Portsmouth

    A pleasant stay

The bedroom was smaller than expected, and the furniture and fittings were ‘tired’. There was only room for one bedside table, no bedside lamp, but a small wall light which was set too far forward to give light onto a book when in bed. The bathroom was spacious, new and clean, but no where to hang a wash bag or clothes. The shower was only just a shower due to poor pressure. A towel rail would be a bonus. The radiator was too small for 2 hand and 2 bath towels, so had clean towels each day.

Location was great as we were going to the Historic Dock Yard. Breakfast was average. Cooked to order eggs which was good. Yogurts good, fresh fruit available. DIY toast. Enjoyed a Japanese dinner one night. Most enjoyable, and cooked to order and served beautifully. Excellent service from the staff in reception and at the bar. Enjoyed reading the plaques and history of the hotel. Asked for a quiet room and we experience no noise,, so grateful for that.

Fantastic location. We parked our car in the compact carpark for the duration of our stay and was included in the price. Large room overlooking a public carpark. The large bathroom appears to be recently done but could do with more shelving and holders, Bedsheets didn't fit the bed! The twin beds were pushed together and there is only one bed side table. Tiny TV. Great breakfast in a lovely setting with sufficient variety offered. Staff are friendly work hard.

The building is old and there are steep steps up to the door. The room was basic and the furniture old. However, the bathroom was modern and everything was clean.

The location was excellent as we intended to visit the Mary Rose exhibition, which was just over the road. Gunwharf Quays shopping and restaurant complex was five minutes walk away too. The downstairs was nicely decorated and well maintained. A small but free hotel carpark was a short way from the hotel. Food in the restaurant was excellent and offered both a European and Asian menu.

They had a function on in the dining room that evening, so no meals available till after 8pm. But after a short while i was offered the same meal as the function and a very reasonable price. So can only say thank you to the man behind the bar who arranged it. so no complaints

Our room, number 4 didn't have a view of the surrounding area. It's about a 25 minute walk to the city center of Portsmouth

Location is great, just across the Historic Dockyard of Portsmouth. Breakfast was good and the breakfast hall was beautiful. The staff was very friendly. When we arrived they booked us on a room with only 2 beds but after seeing that we were with 3 people, they quickly rebooked us to another room. Private parking was very good

The pillows were a bit uncomfortable. The water pressure in the shower was very low. We had hoped to have the Japanese menu but it was the chef's night off and the English food was not very good.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The lift was new and efficient. The room was a good size and had a view of the harbour. There was a large TV.
