Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryShared bathroom is not my favourite choice.
Everything was fine. It is a cosy family house with kind people and nice rooms.

United KingdomPointless question. See above.
Nothing to dislike. An outstanding example for parks and gardens everywhere. Superb buildings containing the best of world botany. Practically queue free refreshments. We spent 9 hours there, yet feel we lingered nowhere, and even then ran out of time. It's true what I heard before I went. Kew is a 2 day experience. The rose garden, the Temperate House will linger long in the memory, but the Rockery! Wonderful.

CanadaI liked that it was akin to an old-fashioned b&b in that it was just a spare room in someone's home. Breakfast was not provided but a fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster were, along with plates etc and cleaning supplies. A grocery store was just a few minutes' walk away. The shared bathroom was as close as if it had been ensuite. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming.

United KingdomAlthough we knew there were shared bathroom facilities and it was not an issue for us, we would prefer en-suite. That said this was reflected in the very reasonable cost of the accommodation.
The easy access to Kew Gardens Station for visit to the RAH and Royal. Historic Palaces on our itinerary and also to Kew Gardens which we hope to visit again as it was rather wet when we visited Alicia was very helpful when we discussed our itinerary for our few days stay as well as useful suggestions for obtaining food nearby Paul too was also helpful when the guest information sheet was missing from our room and we couldn't find the WiFi code. We really appreciated we could leave our cases on the last day and pick them up in time for our travel home . Alicia was an excellent host and we shall certainly consider using this accommodation when we next visit Kew Gardens and London Thank you

CanadaNothing - everything was as it should be.
I had a very comfortable stay at Kew Gardens and National Archives. The room was in a very central location, just a short walk from the national Archives as well as Kew Gardens itself. The room as spacious, the bed comfortable and the kitchenette was everything you needed for making your own meals, with spacious fridge, microwave and kettle all available as well as lots of dishes and utensils. The reading chair in the room was a nice tough. The washroom/shower was quite clean and very well laid out. The staff were very accommodating and made the stay all that more comfortable. All in all an enjoyable stay.

United KingdomThe hosts - very friendly, helpful and clearly wanted to do everything they could to ensure that I had a good stay. The property was lovely, on a quiet side street a few minutes walk from Kew underground and 10-15 mins walk from Kew Gardens and the River Thames. There was a kettle, fridge, microwave and cutlery/crockery in my room so I was able to prepare my own breakfast.

United KingdomThe bathroom and toilet was shared with one other guest, but that had been made clear in the description at the time of booking.
The room was large and had the usual kettle, plus also a microwave, toaster and small fridge. The central heating was warm and the bed comfortable. The location was excellent for my requirements, near to both Kew Gardens and the Underground (subway) station.

United KingdomI hadn't realised that parking was on the street, but the hosts provided a guest parking 'pass' at £5 for the day, so it worked out well for me.
It was within walking distance of Kew Gardens and a short drive to Heathrow, perfect for my needs. Although I was in a family home, I had privacy. The fridge, microwave, toaster, crockery and utensils were a bonus.

RomaniaNothing bad really. It was the first time in 6 visits to London when I didn’t book a hotel room and I have no regrets. It’s not like The Ritz (where I spent 5 nights in 2016), but it doesn’t have to be.
Classic British house, maybe Victorian-age built. Nice and quiet neighborhood. Tesco supermarket and subway station close by. Friendly hosts. Clean and cosy room with private bathroom. Free wireless internet and many electric devices available (ex. frigde, hair dryer, microwave oven, kettle, TV etc.). Best quality/price ratio in all London. I may return next year if AELTC will provide me another Wimbledon Centre Court ticket.
