Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe site map is a bit misleading as to where the entrance for reception is, but that was a minor issue. If you are in chalet 4 it's easy to be disturbed by other guests going to the breakfast barn
Located with in easy walking distance of the town either on roads or along the river, Kingfisher Barn was convenient and comfortable. My needs were served and a good continental breakfast had.

CanadaEverything was great! If I had to be picky, the television is tiny (but that didn’t bother me) and while the room description listed a desk, there wasn’t one in the room. I managed just fine with a chair and the dresser.
The room was small but cosy with a comfortable bed. The location is lovely, just over the bridge from town and surrounded by lovely tranquil countryside. It’s close to restaurants and pubs and the self check-in is straightforward. Breakfast is basic (toast, pastries, cereal, boiled eggs) but tasty. It’s a great spot to stay!

GermanyThe room is quite simple, no desk, but clean.
Breakfast was good for my taste. Oat meal and cereals with yoghurt and fresh fruit, boiled eggs offered, crispy croissants (with and without chocolat), toast, and good coffee from the French press (or tea if preferred). Fresh orange juice. The young lady taking care of the breakfast buffet was very friendly - and the only staff I encountered during my stay. Automatic check-in was anyway easy. Check-out just by closing the door, leaving the keys inside. The location could have been a little closer to Abingdon, but a 10-15 min walk gets one right to the Thames (beautiful!) and the city centre with pubs and restaurants. Could be an issue with bad weather and no car. Walk in the dark at night. In my case, it was very pleasant.

GermanyYou need to be aware that the place is outside of Abingdon in the fields. The walk on the late evening from Abdingdon to the B&B was not so nice since you need to follow a totally unlightened small street.
Interesting and nice location in an old farmhouse. The short walk to Abingdon in the morning across the fields was very nice.

United KingdomThe only negative for us was the bed, which was really soft. We are used to a firm mattress, however, for other people it would be right for them.
Location excellent for Abingdon and surrounding areas. The accommodations is very good, very clean, and there was a good choice for the continental breakfast. Check in very easy, staff friendly.

United KingdomIt's quite a trek from the main road - it's advertised as a short walk from town - it should a good 1/4 mile walk from the outskirts of town (Abingdon) when I arrived in the twilight I was rushed by a dog from a cottage dweller not a problem for me , but for some one more vulnerable maybe? Breakfast a bit sparse perhaps don't expect a full English.
Very comfortable and clean

United KingdomAlthough there was a good continental breakfast with lots of choice, no cooked breakfast was available. It felt slightly odd with a self-service check-in, and we didn't see any staff until breakfast the following morning. This wasn't a problem, just a little unexpected.
Quiet situation close to the river, about half a mile walk from the centre of Abingdon. Well equipped and very clean room. Very good continental breakfast.

United KingdomI did find it a little chilly, and it was difficult to have timely contact with the owner to address this. It would have been nice to have had the option to have bought extra wood supplies from the owners rather than go out and buy it myself. I was glad I arrived in the daylight as I got muddled with the instructions, and it would’ve been helpful and a nice personal touch to have had an introductory pack to the cottage . Nevertheless, the Owner was extremely helpful when contacted.
The location was excellent, it was very clean and comfortable and it was lovely to have a Christmas tree which made the place cosy too .

United KingdomOnly downsides for me were that the outside areas aren't lit that well at night if you need to pop out to the car. Also, the door lock was old and a bit fiddly - not brilliant security! (If you're arriving/leaving on foot, definitely bring a torch; the long-ish lane to the main road and pub isn't lit at all.)
Stayed just the one night after a day visiting Blenheim and before a concert the next day in Oxford. Easy to find, nice room and bathroom, the unit was well heated, spotlessly clean and very pleasant. With plenty of towels, a hand soap, shower gel, shampoo etc dispensers and useful small TV, there's a kettle and sachets of coffee, hot chocolate & milks, plenty of tea bags and a biscoff biscuit each, all set out on a tray. Open clothes rail recessed in wall was very convenient, beds are quite comfy and there's plenty of electric sockets via the extension lead on the floor behind a bedside cabinet, also an information wallet. There's a shared kitchen (like a hostel set up) barely 20 steps away which is very useful if arriving late evening like we did. Like the accommodation, this is also modern, clean and well set up and includes an eating area with cafe tables and chairs. Spacious to cook in, it was well equipped with an electric oven, separate grill oven and a four ring hob, a fridge, toaster, crockery, pots and utensils etc. This is where you'll find and cook your own breakfast and wash up. There are clean tea towels, washing up liquid, kitchen paper and one scouring pad too. It was like home from home. For breakfast there was plenty of breads, bagels, butter, eggs, cereals, milk, fresh strawberries, blackberries, plain yoghurt, pots of instant oats and lots of spreads...Nutella, marmite, honey, jams etc. Teas and coffee are all right there also to help yourself to. We cooked and thoroughly enjoyed scrambled eggs on toast, fresh berries with yoghurt. (I wish I'd bought with us some bacon and mushrooms - doh!) There's a beautiful courtyard with some tables and chairs to enjoy if you've time and weather permits...very pretty. In fact, everywhere is perfectly maintained and the accommodation was in a great location for our needs. The staff that we bumped into in the morning are lovely, friendly and welcoming.

United KingdomHaving the breakfast room available in the evening until 9pm was very handy to get together with the other friends booked in. There was basic crockery and space to have snacks and a drink. One review wisely suggested to bring a torch as the final stretch of entrance driveway is dark at night if walking back from town centre. We brought one and were delighted. Very warm and pleasant.
