Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRooms and beds let our stay down and current condition is very over priced, such a shame, if rooms were brought up to date we would visit more. It is current state we would choose not to stay which is such a shame. We was going to complain about the bed (if you could call it a bed) but as the staff was so nice we choose not to. We feel the rooms would put people off. We know there is plans for the rooms however until this is sorted the price should be discounted by at least 50%
The main bar and restaurant is very nice, Staff and food are both excellent, staff made us very welcome. Would visit again just for the warm welcome

United KingdomI stayed for 2 nights. The room and en-suit were extremely clean, and the bathroom was large and a lovely surprise (room 1). I wasn't expecting much as rated 3 star, but I was pleasantly surprised.. Although the building was old and the floors were creaky and a bit uneven, the facilities were well maintained. I was a bit dubious the 1st night i arrived at 20.30, It was pitch black, and the pub and restaurant were closed to the point I'd wondered if it was the right place! I had to seek help from the pub next door to get in contact with someone to let me in, that took longer than it should of done, all in all it took an hour waiting around in the cold for someone to let me in, when someone did come it was an awkward exchange and I was told he would be locking up after me. I would have liked to have gone next door relaxed and had a pint. But I felt like this would have been an inconvenience. 2130hrs is a bit early to be locked up. The 2nd night, I arrived back from a day out. Out from 7.30am -5pm, and it was a completely different atmosphere, weĺl lit, warm open fire, beautiful bar, and restaurant with a few revellers sat around laughing and joking, dog friendly. I had an out of this world meal, Lime infused Beer batter Haddock bueatifully presented sat on a track of triple cooked crispy well seasoned thick chips with 3 generous helpings of potted tartar sauce, curry sauce and mint infused mushy peas. I asked for additional bread and butter and was given a bread board of sourdough slices with plenty of butter. I also had a stunning sour cherry and apple crumble and custard for dessert. It was scrumptious, but I couldn't finish it due to the food induced coma that was fast kicking in!!! In 2 days, I saw 2 members of staff, the guy who let me in, and the very polite and accommodating lady that was working the bar and served my meal all in all a high-end rating of the 3 star for accommodation but the food from my experience was high end 4 if not a 5...

United KingdomThe shower didn't have a huge amount of pressure, literally the only issue about the whole place. Was a pleasure to stay and will definitely be recommending to all my friends
Staff were wonderful, the food was amazing and lovely vegan options, too! Definitely recommend reserving a table for lunch or dinner as they get busy and booked up super quick!

United KingdomMy room was above the bar, I could hear noise from the customers which was a pleasant hubbub. However, there was also from a speaker that was directly underneath my bedroom. The most annoying thing was that nobody could actually hear the music from the speakers in the bar - apart from me in my bedroom. This is a minor annoyance but the pub could probably turn it off when they have guests in the room above. - They may well have done if I ad asked, but I couldn't really be bothered to.
Breakfast was served from 8am. Unfortunately it was a working trip and I needed to be out before it was served. However, I ate in the very cosy bar and the food was excellent as was the beer.

United KingdomUnfortunately there was a light which emitted a blue light in the room which couldn't be turned off. This disturbed our sleep. Generally clean but some areas could be made smarter e.g re-seal the bath. The venue was very busy on arrival and we had to park some way up the road.
Really lovely breakfast. Friendly staff more than willing to accommodate any requests. Sheets and towels very clean.

United KingdomThe room was exceptionally hot, and we stayed in the summer. No hairdryer
The food was excellent, and it was handy not to have to drive after a couple of drinks. Room had most of what you need. You could hear the pub chatter and music but this all stopped at 11.30pm. Bed comfortable, shower very good, nice toiletries. Quiet location, very pretty next to the river. Also next door to another pub/restaurant.

United KingdomNot really a dislike, beacuse they kindly upgraded me to a larger room with ensuite because I'd asked not to be on the road side, but if I hadn't asked, I would have been in a room with shared bathroom which I hadn't realised from the booking, and wouldn't expect for £90 / night with no breakfast included. But maybe all the hotels round there are similar prices. Don't know why it's so high when it's not London area.
Beautiful location by the river. I enjoyed the swans. Very comfortable bed.
