Nothing. It was honestly a wonderful weekend escape.

The staff in this hotel are amazing. Alex from The Wellhouse restaurant went above and beyond in his customer service, from especially helping to source a cheese platter even though it wasn't on the menu to brilliantly handling the whole room of customers when the lights went out due to a short power failure. The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding. I really couldn't recommend this experience highly enough.

We were in Laurel room and we kept getting lost on our journey to and from the room. Basically, the signage is bad. Far more signs are required to Reception and to particular rooms. Also, I'm elderly with strength and balance problems. The shower room was well designed except that there are no handrails to hold on to and there is one minute soap container which can only hold one bottle. There should be at least two containers. Form must always be married to function!

The staff here are magnificent, really accommodating and just generally polite. The surroundings are incredible and the house its self is picturesque. Highly recommend the Plough Inn down the road which had lovely food and settings. Then recommend the cocktail bar as well

We had a slight problem with our booking on arrival and were put in the wrong room but the staff were fantastic and sorted it out for us instantly.

We loved the location of the property, it’s in the beautiful countryside with a long drive up to the house which makes it feel very luxurious. Even the car park was pretty. We walked from the car park to the house to take it all in and the house looked spectacular (even in all of the rain), especially with the lights being around the trees. We stayed in the room Acacia and it was incredible, a massive room, with a large bed, 2 chairs, a flat screen TV and more. The best part was the bathroom which has a jacuzzi bath with lights & TV, a huge shower with multiple shower heads, 2 sinks and the gorgeous floor that reflects onto the ceiling creating the most wonderful atmosphere.

It would have been nice to have, breakfast included in the price we paid.

The Room itself was a lovely space and very warm. 4 Poster bed, the bathroom impressive. Breakfast was very nice. We ate in the Well House, happy with the service, they also showed us the Kitchen, and the staff explained the space and were very engaging. Impressed.

The staff at Lainston House were very professional and welcoming and of course made all the difference to our stay. Thanks to all the staff! We had a meal in the Wellhouse which was excellent.

There was nothing to fault.

Room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. We had a superb dinner, prepared and presented to perfection and the following morning had an excellent breakfast. The staff were friendly and extremely efficient.

- The dinner quality relative to the value was a bit lacking, but the dining experience was still enjoyable and the cedar bar for post-dinner is a treat

The property is exceptional , beautiful, clean , amazingly maintained , we are beyond grateful to the staff for being extremely nice , lovely , making us feel special , everyone was very hospitable , the quality of the food was exceptional , the facilities and just everything about the property from the tiniest detail was made with the finest love and care. I strongly and wholeheartedly recommend Lainston house as it was probably the best experience we have had when travelling so far !!!

Hardly any rooms have air conditioning despite booking.com stating they had! The superior double room booked was not available and the upgrade to a junior suite had no zircon only a ceiling fan. temperatures were above 30C. The hotel blamed booking.com. I would not have gone to this hotel had I known in advance.

Informed the staff when checking out that a cockroach was in the room and had to be squashed and flushed down the loo. Male assistant on reception seemed concerned and informed female manager who didn’t seem interested. She did apologise but considering we didn’t make a fuss and quietly pointed out the problem we feel that some appeasement could have been offered.
