Robes in the room were too small and felt old; lots of kids in the pool - maybe restricted hours for kids and or adults?; would be nice to have a mini-bar in the rooms?

Staff were EXCELLENT - friendly, cheerful, helpful - especially the reception and bar staff! Beautiful and well kept grounds.

The price booking.com charged is £316 peg night when the same room was available direct on the arrival day at £234 and hotel would not adjust the price although Booking.com implied they may help If not happy . We had left over food and plates left in a cupboard from a previous guest .

Position is good , view across the creek when tide is in are lovely .

I have been regularly going for a few years and this was the first time I saw some tlc needed around the property- some regrouting in the bathroom, humidity extractors in the bathroom, iron.

The spa facilities were over crowded with people. Certain people hogging the outdoor hot tubs for hours. There was too much chlorine in the indoor hot tub which resulted in a burning sensation, so this needs to be checked.

The breakfast was awful. All cooked breakfast items were greasy and did not seemed cooked properly. The pancakes were soggy with tinned strawberries on top. I'm afraid it let the experience down as I was expecting good quality food from the standard of the hotel. The coffee was nice as was the pastrys and fresh fruit. If I stayed again I would miss out the breakfast. The receptionist was lovely and very helpful.

The location was lovely. The bar area was particularly nice as was the spa. The room was clean and comfortable.

After a stressful few months we were looking forward to a relaxing break having stayed at this spa before and had booked months in advance. Unfortunately as an older couple hoping for a relaxing weekend we were surprised that we had been given a room in between two families with noisy children. We were disturbed early one morning with doors banging and children running up and down the corridor and outside our room. Felt disappointed that a returning guests, we have been several times before that the hotel didn’t think about the best placement for us, as its guests.

The building all in all feels quite clinical with not much character. Dinner took a long time to arrive I was a little disappointed with my massage..it felt a little "bish bash bosh, you're done". Maybe it was because were the last ones of the day..? Bike shed was not equipped for bikes, just a lot of junk on there. They could do with installing bike rails at least.

Room was lovely with view of the lake Dinner - after an apprehensive view of the complicated looking menu, the food we chose ended up being very tasty. Breakfast was great - mix of buffet full English and continental. Views from restaurant were lovely over looking the lake Spa was nice over all

Rooms have no mini fridge, no ironing board, no iron, no slippers. Small comforts that could have been provided at a very low cost to improve experience... Changing rooms definitelly need a deep clean or redoing. Swimming pool area needs a cleaner to attend on regular basis... Kids are not allowed in the jacuzzi - no reason really. (Saunas I would understand...) Not enough time allocated for kid sto enjoy the pool. Water in the pool a bit too cold for smaller kids / air temp also not great. People occupy jacuzzi , escpecially outside one, for multiple sessions and it's not controlled. Restaurant - this is the area we got disappointed the most. Evening meal- long wait times from being seate dto drinks, to order, to food. For no reason really as there were 4 other tables occupied. Restaurant needs bookings also. Food OK. Breakfast - astonishingly disappointing. Buffet style , with all full English parts. Scrambled eggs tasteless. We were not informed that we can order other items from the kitchen, i.e. other types of eggs, etc. Food OK, again, but no cheeses, no vegetables. Selection entirely catering for standard British breakfast with almost no continental variety. When fried eggs ordered , 2 eggs came half done after about 20 minutes. Restaurant needs better supervision in all aspects.

The rooms are nice and quiet. Very comfortable beds. Big enough bathrooms. Black out blinds. Bathrobes on the bed. Good towels. Free parking, including disabled spaces next to reception. Quiet location on the side of a small town. Nice nd friendly staff . Swimming pool is not big, but still enjoyable. Jacuzzi inside, smaller one outside, 3 saunas and a steam room.

One of our 2 single beds was past its useful life and was too slumped and very uncomfortable, I slept on that bed and woke up numerous times through the night with back ache and had to turn sides

There was no toothpaste n tooth brush in the rooms .I got it when I went to the reception and asked for. The bed base had stains on the cloth wrapped around. The breakfast spread was not good

Breakfast was very slow due to one staff member working alone on her own . I understand you were short staffed so by the time we got our breakfast and had eaten it and did leave breakfast room ,it was close to our check out time. When I asked the lady at the desk she said we had to be out by 11am. I felt quite rushed then. Then when I dashed to the desk with luggage to check out, there was noone there at 11am. So I picked up the phone and then a assistant came and passed the message to the same lady I spoke to after breakfast and then I finally checked out. I feel the fact we sat waiting a long time to order our cooked breakfast and then eat it ,was not the one female staff members fault, you are short staffed. we should of been able to check out 30 minutes later than 11am. Mattress was not comfortable but room good.

Had a very nice room but check in was quite difficult when I arrived late, due to a migraine and I had phoned in earlier to let reception staff know ,Ferry was a different time than we expected and told hotel as many car sailings had no space. On arrival the porter man did not seem to understand me asking to check in and was abit confused so I had to repeat myself,but he was very polite. we finally got to our lovely room very tired .We had not found hotel easy to find in the dark. Breakfast was nice and shower was good and room was nice.

The bed was extremely comfortable and it was lovely to have blackout curtains, it is also so peaceful at Lakeside... The only thing I would say is that the bedroom could do with a bit of an update, it was a little "tired"

The pool could have been cleaner on the bottom. Breakfast was tasty but given the excellent quality of the evening meal was possibly a bit lacking.

Beautiful setting, very comfortable spacious room. Quiet and relaxing. Lovely spa area, especially outside thermal pool. And a great idea to limit times children can use the facilities. Lovely dinner in the brasserie. We enjoyed walking around the grounds by the lake.

The breakfast was OK, unfortunately, like most hotels, now they do self-service. Which means you get a breakfast you can get anywhere.

The whole hotel. The spa was great. The view from our room across the lake was beautiful. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and had all you needed.
