Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAbsolutely nothing was not to like.
We enjoyed the seclusion of this property. The chalet was perfect and clean with extras such as fresh hens eggs, homemade jam, homemade pastries, milk, coffee, and tea. Karen provides a surprise for those who stay for at least four nights! Karen and John encouraged us to get out and about on their property including interacting with the days old lamb, petting the pigs, and collecting hens eggs. My husband, nicknamed Anchor Man by Karen, took him with her on the quad to check on the sheep before sunset. It was lambing season and the ewes and lambs were checked on throughout the day. They took us on a tour of their property and up to the top of the hill for awesome views. Karen and John were always available to answer questions about their work and about the area. Our four days there went too quickly! We plan to return! May your anchors always hold fast and your boomerangs return to ye.

SpainWe loved everything. Some days was a little bit windy and we could not enjoy the cabin surroundings as we wanted, but the next day was sunny and the weather was lovely, so this is nothing related to the place but the Scottish weather! So just be prepared for a weather that changes constantly. Also I would advice providing travelers with the info on how to drive through Skye, just as a little advice, but deffinitely there is nothing to complaint about Lampay! (well probably we did not like the goose hissing at us! But we were warned! hahaha just kidding! It was very funny!)
It saved us that Karen left everything prepared. We arrived very late due to the fact that we were doing a roadtrip directly from Edimburgh with little stops, and the time was flying. We contacted Karen through booking itself, and she replied very quickly and very warmly, and she told us that it was okay, that she prepared the heating for us, and also placed some delicious muffins and scones, as well as milk and jam, which we tried at our arrival after arriving tired and hungry. We found the cabins without problems. We could park next to the cabin. The beds were very confortable and the shower it's great and very warm. Also the cabin is equipped with everything you might need to prepare yourself some meals. We bought some eggs (they sell them) and we prepared delicious omelettes with them. Also you can ask for breakfast which will be delivered the next morning to your cabin and Karen will leave it at the door, which is again, very convenient, and the prices are great. We deffinitely need to come back to see the ducklings grown up!

Wow! We can’t say enough good things about the owners or the facilities. Absolute gem of a place and John & Karen are salt of the earth people. The location is gods country with endless beauty. We could spend the rest of our lives combing the beaches of this area for the rest of time.

It was just perfect. The chalet was super clean and nicely decorated. Spacious enough for a couple with a dog. Great bathroom with a superb shower. Breakfast options are delicious. Remoteness and views are just lovely. We travel a lot, but we've never enjoyed our stay as much as in here... We definitely want to come back next year.

IrelandVery remote, be prepared for narrow potholed roads. Ensure you bring provisions - we got a small amount of milk, sachets of butter and small tub of jam & nothing else - not even a complimentary biscuit. Dunvegan village is one of the worst we visited in Scotland. On a Tues afternoon there was one place to get food and our choice was either pizza or fish & chips- chef was on a break. Not a negative for the chalet but info on local area.
Lovely compact chalet and thankfully the sun was shining when we were there. Cooked breakfast was tasty - pay extra per item. Download the app for the Northern Lights - we missed them.....

United KingdomWe loved everything about this place!
We enjoyed absolutely everything about our stay here. Karen is a really great host, she left us some eggs from her chickens, home made jam, some baked goods and a bottle of bubbly. The location is so beautiful we were lucky enough to see dolphins right from the door. All the animals are great to see and interact with. Karen leaves you to enjoy yourself and stays out of your way but do stop to have a chat with her because she's so lovely. The chalets are close to Dunvegan castle and seal boat trips which I highly recommend. You can walk to coral beach and it's beautiful there. We enjoyed waking up every morning to the sheep, chickens and geese. The geese really are a laugh to watch. We also visited and fed the two pigs and they are really fun to see. I think we made friends with Karen and John's two dogs but if you're not a dog person they are kept in their own garden so we just said hello over the fence. Would highly recommend and really hope to come back, we made some incredible memories here.

The Lampay Chalets is a bit of a misnomer as it should be called the coral beach residence of your dreams. Don’t tolerate any substitutes as this lovely location has it all—great location, beautiful view, super practical living conditions and fantastic hosts. If you like animals then you will be even more in heaven—don’t like animals (what’s your problem?) then you can just ignore the wonderful chickens, geese, ducks and pigs all out to pasture between the residence and the cliffs down to the water. Our time here was a highlight of our time in Scotland and you won’t go wrong to select Lampay Chalets for you visit—in fact, the longer the better. We stayed three nights and we wish we had stayed longer. What a dream!

Clean, very new tiny house. Breakfast was basically provided as our super friendly hostess stocked us with fresh eggs, coffee, and tea. Even local beer on arrival. Most memorable was feeding the chickens and baby lambs. Oh, of course, the view was beautiful.

It was quiet and secluded which is what we wanted. The chalet is situated next to the owners home, but they don’t disturb you once settled in and they are super friendly. The chalet is modern and clean, and fitted out with everything you would need, including some fresh baked goodies, eggs and milk.

United KingdomThere was nothing in our opinion that needed to improve for us.
From the moment we saw the location and met the hosts we felt so lucky to be there. Kind, generous host who gifted us delicious home baking and jam, fresh eggs, strawberries and other thoughtful treats. Beautiful scenery, wonderful cabins which the pics cannot do justice to and the fun of watching their livestock pottering about. Excellent location to explore nearby beach and travel able to northern tourist locations. Little piece of paradise.

IndiaThe room is a great catch for two people but if you are a group you would probably not be able to adjust. The room was a little on the expensive side but since the booking was done a week prior, it was a great catch and value for the money!
The place is surreal and Karen is the best host you can imagine. The site is located in Dunvegan and it is near Dunvegan Castle, location wise there is no problem if you are looking forward to escaping from the commercial hotels and want to experience nature away from the hustle and bustle. Coming to the property, it is absolutely stunning! The view outside the Chalet is beautiful. Surrounding by nature yet having every amenity you need. The place is perfect for two people to stay. I really want to mention Karen and how gracious a host she is. We were welcomed by baked goods, a clean room and a kitchen with all the amenities you can imagine. She has taken care of everything possible. I would definitely suggest it you everyone if you are looking forward to the trip to the Isle of Skye. Would love to book the property again.
