It was friendly and welcoming both in the nice touches in the room (like a facecloth, a throw, and some tasty biscuits), and the hosts were very friendly throughout. Very comfortable bed with good pillows and linen.

The room was a little cramped and the blind had been broken by a previous guest very few sockets to charge phone or use lap top. The breakfast is continental but there is a good selection and plenty of it

Lovely guest house outside of the main city Parking on road or quite car park at the rear. Staff friendly and welcoming on arrival and at breakfast. There is free wifi, lovely guest lounge and there was plenty of tea & coffee

LANCASTER. If the Town House could be teleported to York or Lincoln , I'd be forever on the doorstep ! However I may stay again for access to adjoining areas, Lakes, North Lancs etc.

Breakfast was excellent and healthy self service with a good selection, and SWEETS !

TV is tiny. My laptop screen was actually larger . The room at the back of the b&b had no sun.. so it was chilly on a really warm day .

Happy to let me in earlier than planned .. The room is clean and tidy . Loads of snacks, fruit, biscuits.. Plenty of choice of hot drinks in the room too Small room but had ensuit bath which was lovely. Breakfast was simple but adequate.

The Townhouse is quite a long way from the middle of Lancaster, and the obvious way for foot-travellers to get there is to walk down a rather busy road (I admit there is a bus). The solution is to follow the canal towpath, which lined with tress, is very atmospheric, and goes right into the centre of town (and a lot further).

The Townhouse doesn't do cooked breakfast - just cereals and toast, and I was pleased with that. The coffee was strong and good. It is good value, so it was not surprise that the room was quite small. The Townhouse is only a few hundred yards from the the great canal aqueduct over the River Lune, one of England's great industrial monuments, bult about 1810.
