Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was a 2 star hotel and it was as expected in terms of the rooms being fairly 'basic' but it served my needs and it was clean and comfortable. TV worked, tea and tea / coffee tray available. Needed to use the wooden chair as a bedside table as the little table provided was out of reach but that was fine. No comfy chair so I watched TV from lying on bed, again that was no issue for me due to my short stay.
The single room was cosy and comfortable. I loved the quaint windows and view of trees outside in the garden. There was a nice little courtyard to eat breakfast in good weather. Cooked breakfast was good, fruit, yoghurt and cereal also available. Shared bathroom with 2 other rooms was clean. As a single female visitor the hotel felt safe and secure. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The location was excellent, Kensington Gardens and underground both on the doorstep. 5 mins walk to cafes, supermarket, restaurants. 15 mins walk through parkland to Serpentine Art Gallery, Kensington Palace and Hyde Park.

SingaporeRooms are a little small but this is fine if you are travelling light.
Breakfast is rather standard. Gives it a home feel. Really enjoy the hospitality by the staff and cook here.

Perfect price for the value. Clean and well equiped hotel compared to what you usually get in London. You can feel the owners care about the place and are good hosts. Very good location.

NorwayMany stairs if you live on the top floor like I did. It didnt bother me, but if you have poor knees or a very heavy suitcase, it might be an issue.
Great hotel in a good location, just a few minutes walk from both Queensway and Bayswater tube stations. I've stayed here before, and the hotel offers good value for being in central London. The single rooms are small, but big enough (who goes to London to stay in the room anyway?). Even though the bathroom is shared, it was right outside the door and free when I needed it. The room also has its own sink. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Very friendly staff.

United StatesReally nice neighborhood, felt very safe. Easy to get to via public transportation. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Across the street from beautiful Hyde Park. Manager exceptionally helpful with dining suggestions, airport transport options, and offering an early breakfast to accommodate my early morning departure. Room was small but absolutely adequate and clean. Shared bathroom very clean. Bed comfortable and building quiet. I slept well. Nice to have a sink in the room. This is a no frills basic accommodation that met my needs comfortably and pleasantly.

AustraliaSound can carry through thin walls, although some people would be noisy anywhere. Water flowing through basin taps in rooms can be loud. Not sure how this could be fixed, or even what causes it. But all these are minor, far outweighed by the many things done so well.
Everything is spotlessly clean and well kept. The ladies are exceptionally friendly, always willing to assist and make your stay enjoyable. The location is perfect, close to Hyde Park, numerous bus routes and 3 Underground lines. Plentiful breakfast, cooked on request, not left in warmers, very good fresh fruit. Excellent value, ideal for me.

RomaniaThe breakfast was not so healthy, very few protein, lots of carbs, yogurt only with sugar, no vegetables, only apples and bananas.
Comfy, great deal for money, close to park, quiet and clean with a very nice garden. The shared bathroom was very close to the room and it was not shared with a lot of guests so it felt more or less like our own

Great location very close to Hyde Park and Bayswater Road. Good sized room and very comfortable beds. Good breakfast - cooked breakfast plus lots of other options. Very cost effective given the location and staff very helpful and friendly. Shared bathroom but sink and mirror in room. Small courtyard with tables/chairs. United KingdomThe bed was a little too firm and the duvet too small and thin. It got a little cold at night due to the duvet being too small (even for a single bed)
The staff welcomed me and made me feel very welcome, both the reception and the kitchen/breakfast staff were a delight and brightened my day to talk to. The breakfast was also very good value, freshly cooked English Breakfast with a buffet of Fruit, yoghurt, cereal, juices and coffee. Great value. Everything was spotless including room and shared bathrooms, also to note they supplied shower gel & shampoo with fresh soft clean towels, something I often do not get for the price of this hotel. I humbly recommend this hotel.
