Nothing. For the price it was honestly well over my expectations in every way.

Richard was very welcoming, made us feel right at home. The property is beautiful but it was him that made the stay so brilliant. Couldn't ask for more from the property or host stand point. 10 out of 10. Thanks Richard for everything and all the best for the future!

Just wished we had the chance to thank Burt (the host) personally before we left. But we had to shoot off early for our long drive home.

The room we stayed in was downstairs and therefore had our own shower room, next to the dining room. All rooms very clean. Made to feel very welcome and to treat the house like our own. Access to sky in our room was a bonus for my partner. Room - lovely decorated and dark at night (good curtains) I like a black dark room to sleep in. Free WiFi also. Prefer this over a Premier Inn any day. Thank you for having us. Also, really good value for money.

I was pleased there was a parking space, but it was difficult to turn round - not impossible though.

Friendly host. Well-equipped kitchen with welcoming sense of freedom. Shower had a lovely big shower-head. Very quiet part of town, not far from the hospital - visiting a patient there was the purpose of my visit. Free bananas!

A little way from town if you are walking.minor point as everything else makes up for it.

Home from home which was super comfortable and was a perfect base for my 3 nights. Richard is a top guy and was super friendly and welcoming. I'd highly recommend it!

Richard was friendly and kindly made me a cup of tea when I arrived late due to the trains. The room was comfortable, and the surroundings were quiet. I slept like a log, which was great as i was in Barnstaple for work and needed to be up early. I have booked again at the end of the month

The threshold into the shower is quite high and a small step would be helpful.

I concur with the comments by others that Bert was very welcoming and helped make my stay very enjoyable. My room was on the ground floor and therefore made a big difference to me as I have mobility issues.

It wasn't clear that Lauderdale Lodge is a guesthouse rather than a holiday house, and so we were expecting to have it to ourselves. In the event it didn't matter at all because Richard was so accommodating, but you should be aware that there may be other guests staying with you, sharing the bathroom and other facilities.

Richard is kind, hospitable and generous. Although this is a guesthouse, he gave us absolute freedom to use his kitchen. It is one of the best-equipped kitchens I have ever seen. The house is recently renovated in a very personal style, and very comfortable. It's in a quiet location, only about 15 minutes walk from the centre of town.

Burt & Sue were very pleasant and accommodating. Literally welcomed you into their home. Just 2 rules, take your shoes off to go upstairs and make yourself at home. Gorgeous accommodation. Highly recommend.

It was easy to walk into town from the property. Room was clean and comfortable and I was made to feel welcome, the cost was reasonable too. I think the room would have benefitted from tea making facilities, but you can use the kitchen. Although not en suite the bathroom was close by with a lovely powerful shower and roll top bath. I would stay here again
