Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The place was absolutely filthy, personal things were left out everywhere around the house, the bathrooms were full of black mold. there was no toilet paper in the bathroom so we had to get our own and had to bleach the bathrooms as we couldn’t use them. I messaged the host to ask if he could get someone to come and clean the bathroom and toilets, I got no response. There was rubbish under the sofas, a random pack of cigarettes just on the floor. Overall, the place was disgusting.

United KingdomI slept with the bedroom door open for the two nights I stayed. There was no bedroom curtain for the window so I slept and dressed under see through window. The number provided as an emergency contact was no longer in use. Dirty bathroom.

United KingdomBooked for week £198 and walked in to a room that needed a chemical cleaning before anybody could stay in it. Tried to contact owner with no response about it. Contacted customer service who paid me £38.80 in compensation and told they cannot do anything about it.

United KingdomThe fire alarm system was so sensitive in the kitchen you couldn't even open the oven door without the alarms going off throughout the whole house. Also the list of rules is endless which include no smoking or drinking outside the house and there was empty bottles and cans along with around 20000 cigarette butts in the back yard that have been there for years

GermanyThe property is very minimalistic, extremely dirty, no pride taken by the owner. No curtains or blinds in bathrooms, food still in kitchen area, dirty crockery, pots and pans dirty. Oven dirty. Not enough cutlery or mugs, in fact 2 tiny mugs only. Garden area extremely dirty, covered in cigarette ends, rubbish, extremely unappealing. Front door very insecure, not hung straight. Not suitable for a long stay, not suitable for children. Rubbish and random bed sheets stuffed everywhere in the house.
