Although this may sound picky - it was strange the tv could not get BBC 4 - where the snooker is played on

Location was excellent and we loved the architecture of the building / the staff were also very good

Mattress was a little too hard and was 2 divans hooked together so we could feel the divide between us. I didn’t like the high velux window in our 5th floor room. I wasn’t expecting not having a window I could see out of. It made what should have been a really nice room feel claustrophobic.

Friendly service, nice location, close to all amenities. Room was tastefully decorated and nice extras such as water in the fridge. The shower in the room was very powerful! A magnifying led mirror in the bathroom was an item that I didn’t realise I’d love so much.

The only gripe I have is that for the not inconsiderable price for the room, breakfast was not included, a real shame and somewhat parsimonious in my opinion.

Very attractive building, well kept, clean and comfortable. All staff we're very welcoming and friendly. Excellent location in the heart of the city.

The breakfast room is awful! Worse than a ‘not very good cafe’. Really let’s the place down as compared to all the very nice places in the hotel it’s badly decorated, cheaply furnished with awful acoustics. Makes you think that actually the guests are the least important people.

    Lovely building, good sized room.

Character hotel a stone's throw from The Crucible

No water the first night in our room as supplies had run out. Likewise marmalade at breakfast the first morning, and orange juice the second morning - supplies had run out. The coffee pods were all the same in our room (we paid extra for a deluxe king with coffee machine as my husband likes a strong, caffeinated coffee in the morning) and no-one seemed to know what the pod contained as it didn't match anything on the 'menu' of Nespresso pods and wasn't very nice. The consensus was it was some sort of decaf but who knows. And for all of them to be the same was annoying. Little things, but the room was quite a bit dearer than the standard double so we were a bit disappointed.

The size of room and comfy bed. Friendly staff.

Noise from the breakfast room which was near our room (101) noise from bins being moved outside our bedroom window very early, toilet in the room wouldn’t flush and had to use the toilet near the restaurant for the whole weekend as no one came to fix it and no offer to move rooms.

Big room, comfy bed, bonus outside space on LG floor

The property was a little tired in places and we booked nearly a year in a advance however the prices dropped a lot so we felt a little short changed

The location was amazing and with addition of using a near by car park at a discounted rate was a good thing

The rooms were a little old fashioned and could benefit from an upgrade. The facilities in general felt a little dated.

The location of the hotel for a city break was perfect, right in the heart of the city, conveniently located for bars, restaurants, shops and the university.

Nothing of note as we are going to go back

Beautiful and clean and the staff are very helpful and the bed was soooo comfortable, plenty of eateries in the local vicinity and city hall is just around the corner, literally 4 minutes away, brilliant if like my hubby you are not very mobile and are going to a show there. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for,a nice bar area where food is bookable,as is room service at times. The hotel is a short taxi ride from the train station and not far from the crucible if you're a fan of snooker. Or for the more able a good 10-25 minute walk from the train station, but be warned it's uphill.
