How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bed was uncomfortable thin mattress. I could feel bedsprings. Room was over the front door of the pub and street light near window.

Someone had used the toilet and not flushed properly but no big drama
Great place , busy pub great for a drink , easy access and even though pub was busy you don't hear anything in your room, room was clean, great shower , good night's sleep

I quite like this hotel, its' convenient for my work at The Snowdome. Some of the rougher, more rowdy locals and "working men" come here so it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Room was small and basic but met our needs. Would really like to see availability of tea/coffee making facilities in the room but it hasn’t put us off staying again in the future.
staff were friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Room was clean Bed was comfy. Lovely food(evening and breakfast) free on site parking

I found the bed really uncomfortable unfortunately - it had a big sag in it. Though my 13 year old son didn't notice when we switched our twin beds ( I did find his bed slightly better than mine ). I realise this place is great value and hence the lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room but if one is to get this from the games room - perhaps the option of being able to do so from 6.30am onwards would be useful ( rather than 8am ) A few more hangers in the room would have been appreciated ( there was just one in our room ) and possibly a glass to use in the bathroom as well as a fitted towel rail. All in all - easily resolved one way or another - I am sure they'd have helped if asked for certain items.
Great Location for exploring the area. Useful to have a Tesco and cash machine within walking distance. A games room for playing pool and table football. Helping yourself to tea and coffee throughout your stay from the games room. Decent TV in the room, and fresh clean towels, one small pack of soap to use.

rooms smelled quite strongly of damp, which is main reason I wouldn’t stay again. no kettle in room, which is fine during day as tea/coffee making facilities available, however early in morning is an issue as can’t access bar area before 8am. Very noisy at night even after bar is closed so not best for kids, however not accommodation fault.
Staff were amazing. so friendly and accommodating, one of the best features of the stay and probably the friendliest staff of all hotels I’ve stayed in. Food was very nice and excellent value for money. good accommodation for budget travellers.

Carped very dirty, I couldn’t walk without sleepers A lot of dust on the furniture, bedding looked dirty, only one towel for two people.
