The tap in the bathroom was very loose.

The staff were very polite and helpful and the location was excellent.

The bed was really hard and uncomfortable and we didn't get a good sleep. The pillows weren't comfy. Also, the lights didn't all work and there were limited sockets for charging. The shower was either boiling hot or cold. The tempered glass windows also made us feel uncomfortable using the bathroom, as people could see silhouettes of people. No extra curtain for evening privacy. Small TV in corner of room where curtains obstructed view.

The room was really nicely decorated, with a a large bathroom and modern twist. Nice view of the waterfront through the window. Layout of the room was nice.

I attended for an interview at the university about 35 minute walk, not close to most public transport systems.

the room was quite nice, partial views of the waterfront. The location was about 12 minutes from central York. Free tv and tea station was good. Room came with recommendations for tours and restaurants/bars

Can be noisy but to be expected being on a street with pubs & a popular bar.

Really comfortable bed & cosy room. Quite spacious too. Bathroom especially. Great discounts on food & drink when staying there. Good location for getting around the city. Nice staff.

Had 2 rooms over 3 days as extended stay, first room looking over river better than 2nd but both good. Nice pub to sit in downstairs and close to all we wanted to do in city. Great location.

It should be made clearer it's part of a pub and even without that it just seemed very expensive for what it was!. Room had minimal natural light and was a bit claustrophobic. The pub is on the waterfront but the rooms certainly are not.

Being on the waterfront when outside is great and the staff are friendly.

Room was tiny, windows blocked up, dubious stains down the walls and a really loud drip noise throughout the night to the point we had to sleep with tissue in our ears. The stairs are also very narrow and steep, especially with a suitcase. The duvet cover didn't even fit the duvet 😕

First night we arrived we didn't know what to expect then went into the room and found it cold as we later found out that the central heating was not working in the room and a big gap under the door and a draft blowing in from either window's or hallway the staff were really great when we yold them about the lack of central heating and we got room changed the following day

I wish they gave us more towels. A cleaner asked us would we like new towels to which me and my partner said yes to but the cleaner took away our 1 towel and replaced it with 1 towel, when there was clearly 2 of us there - but we weren't too worried.

It is in a great location down by the waterfront, and very close to town (basically in town). Handy check in process at the bar and the staff were very helpful. Room had everything we needed , and it was clean.

Shower was leaking from around tray area as floor was constantly wet, also Shower temperature was very hot and couldn't adjust it. When it was raining (all night) there was obviously a gutter leaking so it felt like Chinese torture as there was a constant loud dripping noise. More hangers required as only two in wardrobe. Room could do with a little refresh as looking a bit tired.

Shower was a bit warm with no way of turning it down a notch and the bar could be a bit loud if you fancied an early night

Good size room in an excellent location at a good price, the bar is well stocked and had a good atmosphere, we used the bistro as well for breakfast which was really tasty and very reasonable, you even get a 15% discount with your room key

The rooms weren’t quite as up to scratch as suggested on the photos - could’ve done with some work, lamps were wonky and dusty, chair cushion was filthy and chair was very wobbly (broken), desk had lots of scratches, dents and scuffs. Bed seemed small, think it may have been a small double? Would’ve been nice if the bistro was open so we could eat breakfast, however the river flooded due to rainfall so I think it had to close due to flood risk, which I guess is understandable. Walls were a bit dirty.

Was a nice location, would definitely be better in the summer. The bistro downstairs was nice however was only open 1 of 3 days of our stay. Cheap and cheerful.

People with disabilities may find the stairs a problem as a little steep.

Excellent location with lovely view of the river. Warm comfy clean room. Value for money and nice little pub. Will definitely return.
