United Kingdom10 reviews9 helpful votes“Scammed out of over £200! Book at your own peril! If you like garden sheds this is your place”No different to a garden shed based on its single glazed windows! I had planned to stay for 1 night for R&R and the temperature within the lodge on arrival was 2-3 degrees at 15:30pm! The only source of heating was inadequate portal electric heaters that were faulty and not emitting much if any heat. There is also heavy road traffic noise based on it being near a busy road, not peaceful at all There were also building works going on in the main building with the use of loud machinary and awful levels of noise (like a building site!) Although the construction workers were very friendly and did try to help me by offering extra heating that they would try to source , they also showed me to the accommodation because it is not clearly signed. On the other hand the staff over the phone are unhelpful and told me it was my decision to book their accommodation and were brutal. I have since seen other bad reviews/ experiences so clearly they have no customer service and are only interested in money. I left the property after 45mins due to the cold, which was the 27th of Decemember, and I am till this day waiting for my £150 deposit back, and they refused a refund on the £65 I paid! The accommodation from what I did see was dated, and the bathroom shower had cracks around it It is also worth mentioning that when I arrived albeit I am grateful cleaner's had been in and they did do a good job however the floor was wet and not only did I slip (thankfully without injury) but it was incredibly horrible enlight of the freezing conditions. 2 weeks on and no apologies or refunds, and they still hold my deposit! Especially considering I left due to poor facilities. Absolutely awful and probably the worst I've ever experienced and was no different to staying in a garden shed.
The location by an open lake was lovely and scenic and that is the only nice thing I can say

They have emailed me saying the room I occupied was burnt after I left so they've charged me for the damage deposit. They sent me a video of the burnt room and it isn't the room I stayed in. They had two storage heaters in the room which were not safe and I had to switch them off as the plugs were heating up. The outside door which was very flimsy, was the only lockable door in the property. I did not feel safe and so couldn't sleep well that night. The cabin is in a remote location, no wifi and extremely poor phone network. The area is poorly lit. The smoke alarm was disconnected. They only communicate via text message and when you try to call them they don't answer. They gave someone else the keysafe code for our property and we were told we were in the wrong place. We were then given the codes to all the other 4 cabins and told to go and find the other ones and check that the codes work - ridiculous! It is just not safe, especially for 2 women. We were the only ones there. If we'd needed help, no one would have been available. There was no one there even though they tell you to contact the main building if you need anything. I have reported this to booking.com as they need to be removed from their site.
