Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe property is inexpensive so you get what you pay for. It is rather “tired” and outdated but that is reflected in the price. A decent sign on the main road would help as the turn off for the house is really difficult to spot.
The location is absolutely stunning. The sea is literally at the bottom of the garden with beautiful views towards Scotland. We were fortunate to see a huge pod of dolphins on our first day. A short walk into the pretty town and great walking opportunities for the dog.

United KingdomHmm... No mention about heating so took as bit of time to see what's what. Another thing was access to house. Quite busy road and no marking on which turn to get in made our entry and looking for it very stressful with other drivers impatience
Location. Was absolutely beautiful .. Well equipped kitchen made our stay very comfortable as well as the rest.

United KingdomSome non stick cookware would have been useful but listen, don't go expecting a modern hi tec apartment, this is a lovely seafront 2 floor house with lots to make your holiday easy. Brilliant host and extremely handy to get into the centre of donaghadee. Private parking and secure garden for our dog was a real plus.
This place has the greatest location in the greatest small town , every chance I had I was outside looking at the view, which changed with the weather, exceptional location for touring the whole of northern ireland.

United KingdomVery poor signage on main road, The house is tired and could do with an upgrade IE paint the front door and windowsills to welcome you .The house interior needs painting, there is damp in the living room and the bath is repaired with gaffer tape. There is sparse facilities for hanging clothes. There is an iron but no ironing board.
The location is excellent

United KingdomNo suggestions for any significant improvements.
Well equipped house with open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. Beds and pillows were comfortable, which meant we had a good night's sleep. The shower temperature was consistent and the rubber bath mat was a welcome addition. Lovely views of the sea, coastline and local birdlife with the convenience of easy access to the coastal path. We enjoyed seeing the resident robin in the garden and the bats at dusk. I liked the maps in the lounge, especially the two showing Belfast, the surrounding area and the Ards Peninsula, which could be very helpful and of particular interest for visitors not familiar with the area.

Isle of ManThe staircase to the upper floor is very narrow and steep, making it difficult for my elderly mother to climb up and down. However, we made a plan that she only needed to go up and down just once per day and so it wasn't a big issue. The shower is over the bath and there are no grab handles, which made it tricky for easy access. Other than those few things, there were no other issues whatsoever.
Easy to deal with the host Leon. He quickly responded to any questions that I had. House was very well-equipped, clean and was ideally positioned with a magnificent sea view. We never used the kitchen but it has all the facilities for cooking, cleaning, washing, etc. There is place to park a couple of cars too.

United KingdomWe eventually got familiar with the turning to the house on our 3rd day, a bit difficult to find the turning especially in the dark. Need minor repairs here and there.
Had to bring my work with me, WiFi strength was excellent. Location is great but unfortunately didn't have the chance to go out the front door due to our busy schedules. Leon let us check in early and also let us stayed longer, otherwise 10 am check out is a wee too early.

United KingdomWhen we arrived around 5.15pm tired and ready to chill, we found the place had not been cleaned ( floors dirty, grill pan in sink, bedsheets still on beds from previous guests etc ) On contacting Leon, he apologized, and hoped he could get someone that evening to clean. ( If not, the option was for us to change the sheets etc ourselves). Thankfully, he got someone to come at short notice. She indicated it would take an hour. So we moved some of our luggage and the cat back into car and drove off, returning around 7pm. Leon had indicated he would give us a certain amount of refund to compensate for the hassle and disruption etc. He later reduced this amount because we were only out of the house for about an hour while it was being cleaned!! Also the next day when we returned to the house we found the front gate shut and side one open (not the way we had left them). My friend felt very uncomfortable, wondering who had been around the house. We then discovered the grass had been cut! Would recommend letting guests know if maintenance work is happening during their stay.
Liked the scenery form the windows and the location is great for walks along the coast etc and also being able to bring my pet (cat)

United KingdomThere was little to no supplies in the kitchen such as salt pepper, cooking oil, not even a pint of milk on arriving. Anything there seemed to be other guests leftovers. Toilet roll in bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs was almost empty and no spare anywhere. Had to go searching cupboards for hand wash for bathroom. I expected better.
The location was lovely. Quiet and right next to the sea.
