Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur lodge 22 was quite close to a septic tank and often the smell from that and the waste/ dirty linen area drifted. The TV in the double bedroom did not work (it would be an idea to check batteries prior to letting out the lodge on each occasion), would also be useful to instruct guests on accessing TV channels or not in our case, the fire TV was asking for Amazon log in. The pillows were extremely flat, we overcame this by taking pillows from the beds we were not using. The double mattress was not comfortable having to stay pretty much in one position to avoid a spring in the back. The duvet cover on the double bed was torn and the bottom sheet stained with what looked like ink and there were tissues underneath the double bed. There were nobs missing from the oven hob and the kitchen light dimmer switch. This may all seem petty however for close to £500 for 4 nights stay I feel value for money is questionable. I am sure that had I approached the staff about the issues corrections would have been made, however petty my dislikes may appear I would have expected the basics to have been right without complaining but they were not.
The kitchen was well equipped, there was a spacious bathroom, and the hot tub was fab. Location was good, if you have a car there are many neighbouring attractions to visit.

United KingdomThe maintenance man had to get us out of the hot tub to put a treatment in and unfortunately didn’t tell us for me to go back in. However, every other part was perfect.
Staff was absolutely fantastic especially the bar staff they were so helpful and we really appreciated it and the locals are so welcoming

United KingdomLodge could have been cleaner but it wasn’t a problem to us . We didn’t have any washing up liquid or multi purpose spray / cloths to clean for the weekend. Lucky I’m a cleaner and had stuff in my car but for others there is a shop near the beach to get stuff. Or shops not a far drive away. Lodges could do with a welcome booklet with wifi info in and local places to visit etc I did ring for wifi password and got it easily or the lovely staff would of given it if we nipped into the pub.
Nice cosy lodges , plenty of storage and space, central heating and shower pressure was great! Situated on a quiet site. Amazing pub with reasonably priced drinks & really good food! Staff are fantastic and friendly. Hot tub was amazing, very clean & hot. Stayed at 35°c with the lid off and not very warm British weather

United KingdomFound birthday cards and rubbish from the guests before us - not cleaned to standard prior to our arrival. No welcome pack / unusual for a lodge stay Dishwasher - dishes came out filthier than they went in, did not function properly. No staff around to speak to Remote did not work in the bedroom (twin room) kids were unable to watch tv at bedtime Other remotes did not function - low batteries in the other 2 remotes We took our bikes, all main roads, unsafe for children, no cycle route near the property
Beautiful location Quiet Easy to find Quick check in / check out process

United KingdomThe lodges were showing signs of age - chipped flooring, marks on walls etc but nothing that affected our stay and couldn't be overlooked. The oven was horrendous and very small, don't plan to cook anything substantial when you are staying, it took 40 mins to cook a small frozen pizza!! Luckily we had taken an airfryer to use for the rest of the weekend. Some sort of outdoor hooks would be good for towels while out in the hot tub and also an airer of some sort to get out for the wet costumes etc after would be really useful. But overall, I would say good value for money.
Lovely site, really peaceful. The hot tub was lovely and we saw it being maintained twice during our 2 night stay. We had a good size lodge, 2 double bedrooms and a room with bunk beds. Good living space, ideal for entertaining, We went with another family and as their lodge was smaller, we used ours more. Beds were comfy, clean linen, clean towels. A few extras which were handy like washing up liquid, hairdryer, coffee sachets etc. Check in was so easy and check out was basically to leave your key in the lock box. The on site pub was great - little pods in the beer garden which had their own heaters in so we could sit outside while the kids played on the equipment, there were even some toys for them to play with. Nice and secure so we didn't have to worry about cars etc while the kids were doing their own thing. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend and will be staying again. Well situated for Bridlington, Skirlington Sunday Market, Mr Moos Ice Cream Parlour.

United KingdomThe property was fine except for the hot tub area it was for your own personal use but there was no screens around to make it totally private.
Very clean sight and lodge was excellent with everything you need supplied for you. Bar and restaurant was brilliant and the outside seating areas also. The hot tub was checked daily by staff to ensure everything was fine.

United KingdomLovely lodge setup with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was superb and the whole site was very peaceful with the 11pm noise curfew observed perfectly by all residents. We went into the black bull for a quick drink and the menu looked really good. Would recommend a walk on the beach at barmston. We had it pretty much to ourselves.

United KingdomPub in sight is really small but bigger outdoor area. Weather wasn’t great so we chose to go elsewhere to avoid having to sit outside. There is cooking facilities in cabin however they are limited. Oven wasn’t the best but it did the job, just takes a long time to heat up. Location is very out of the way with nothing around which if that’s what like then perfect.
Easy to find and plenty of space for 4 adults, hot tub was lovely and hot! Staff were super helpful. Lights didn’t work in our cabin on our first night but they got an electrician out straight away to fix them for us.

United KingdomMy only issue but nothing major, i was trying to relax in the hot tub and there was a huge Alsatian dog on the balcony of the pub that just would not stop barking. It drove me mad. If that was annoying me surely it was annoying the owners who made zero attempts to shut it up.
It was clean, warm, comfy, easy check-in, well stocked inside the lodge.

United KingdomOur WiFi was a bit rubbish but didn’t bother us really as we weren’t on our phones much and the tv worked fine, then the provided frying pan we used had warped in the middle so it wouldn’t stay flat on the stove you had to hold it at all times but only niggly bits really nothing to ruin the stay
Really relaxing getaway for me and my partner the lodge was really well equipped and very comfortable overall then the hot tub was just icing on the cake for us
