Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceThere are a few suggestions that could get our experience from 9/10 to 10/10: 1. The bathroom door, due to space confinement, offers no privacy and the door can really easily slide open when you try to move inside the bathroom. I would suggest an inside lock or door chain that could somehow keep the door closed from inside. 2. Another minor thing that could be added is a shelf for soap etc inside the shower and another one near the mirror or over the toilet seat. We really didn't know where to place our stuff. 3. There is an issue with the noise BUT they do offer us earplugs and the first night we made the mistake of not using them. The next nights were far better with the earplugs on. 4. There were too many emails, messages, notifications before and after our stay almost reaching the point of spamming. 5. There is a deposit of £ 100 upon online check-in. We got it back by check-out though. So keep in mind to not be surprised. All in all, I would love to come back and give a 10/10 if some of these issues were fixed. A good experience.
We booked a superior double room for 3 nights at less than £150 a night as a Genius deal, which was indeed a great price for a superior double room with an en-suite bathroom. We loved the location as it was so close to Liverpool Street Station and the fact that exactly under our flat there was the "Brick Lane" bus stop with great connection to Liverpool station and the rest of London. This was very convenient for all our sightseeing. Our room was also clean, had a hairdryer, a small fridge, a coffee maker and coffee/tea options. Towels, soap and toilet paper were also provided. Upon arrival, they also offered to carry our cabin bags up the steep stairs. Another plus is that there is no need for a key or a card for the room and the entrance of the building. Everything is done by codes, which we loved since we didn't have to worry about losing the key/card. We also absolutely loved the view from our room as you can see in the photo below.

AustriaSadly, we got a lot smaller and simpler room than booked, also the showerhead and faucet were very loose like they could fall off any minute :D also don‘t be surprised there is a 100£ debit you have to make at the online checkin.
We really liked the location, it was easy to come around with the busses :)

SpainThe room gets hot during night even though I traveled during winter. I believe its because of the compact size of the room. If the window could be opened slightly that would be great.
Perfect for a solo traveler with the proximity of the overground station and eateries. There were bit of stairs to go up, but that was fine for me.

United KingdomThe bathroom door doesn’t provide enough intimacy. The checking in process is a bit stressful since there is no UK number to get in touch with. Communication requires a lot of trust

United KingdomThe shower was a little loud when turned on but not unbearable. We also were a bit confused on how to turn the heating on but other than that, great place to stay
This property was very clean and had a very friendly vibe! It just felt like going back to our own apartment. Lots of shops, restaurants near by and a short walk to the nearest tube station. The unique code for the entrance and our door made us feel very safe and allowed us to check in swiftly by our selves.

AustriaOverall the room did not have too many additional facilities. From the pictures I was under the impression there was a communal kitchen. Maybe that's my oversight, the room also had a fridge but no cutlery or plates. Even though some earplugs were provided, it was still a bit noisy and bright in the morning so I woke up quite early.
- Superb location next to Brick lane, one of the more hip places to be in London. - Included taxi shuttle was nice addition - Communication went smooth - Good wifi

HungaryThe addition of a couple of extra racks or some place to put down your belongings in the bathroom would enhance comfort, although it's manageable without them.
The D8 apartments in London provide a satisfying, great stay. We got a quiet room away from street noise, as requested, so we had relaxing and comfortable nights. It's worth noting that there are steep stairs to the 3rd floor, which wasn't a major issue for us but could be a challenge for those with mobility issues. The location of the apartments is a strong point, with convenient access to public transportation including buses and the metro, making it easy to explore the city. Additionally, there are nearby restaurants, cafes, and shops. Any minor issues we encountered were swiftly resolved. Carolina, our host, consistently remained highly responsive via WhatsApp throughout our stay. Overall, the D8 apartments is a comfortable and well-situated choice for visitors to London.

South AfricaToo little toilet paper and coffee pods and never saw the 'roof top terrace bar" open once while I was there? TV reception appalling, sent a message requesting help and was told to look for an antenna at the back of the TV and pull it out, I expect better for a superior room and the reason I brought the TV reception problem to their attention was so they could fix it and hopefully will for future guests!
The location was the main feature for me, and the lady who helped me with my suitcase navigating the staircases and showed me how to use the digital keypad - I was tapping repeatedly until the numbers finally appeared, she showed me to swipe my hand in front of the pad to get the keypad operational! It was lovely to bump into someone who was so friendly and helpful!

United KingdomThe key on the main door is difficult to use... I don't expect to have to follow a link to a video to show me how to use it... Too many e mails and whatsapp's... I received 8 e mails 5 whatsapp's and one text when one e mail would have sufficed... this makes things so hard to find as they get lost in all the correspondence
Room was good.

PanamaI was on the 3rd floor with no elevators. I wish I didn’t have a separate booking process after already booking here.
It is very central and close to all you need for a comfortable stay. Even though I don’t use them, it was lovely to see the well-laid-out kitchen with a washer AND a dryer! Very rare here. It was very clean and thoughtfully put together. The ability to leave bags at Alfie’s both before checkin and after checkout is a major plus too!

The welcome drink on arrival is a very nice touch. The neighbourhood is lively, you cannot be bored in the area. The building felt secure with the different locks system, their rooftop is truly appreciable, I imagine even more during summer days.
