There was a lack of staff to manage the hotel, maybe this was due to not many guests.

The fact it was freezing no heating even though staff said it would be on by 6pm as it was being reset so froze all night..

The sounds overnight especially the the wing was blowing through the bathroom tub holes which was very disturbing. Lack of balcony was bad . I only booked this room because I thought to get a balcony room . But it was sad that you didn’t allow us to open balcony door.

Check in was a shambles as 2 coach loads were also waiting to check in at the same time and we queued for about 20 minutes to be then told coaches only and had to wait even longer. The manager was there but nobody was taking charge and letting people know what was what. Considering you can't even check in until 4 o'clock and don't get to your room til nearly 5 o'clock I don't call that value for money. If you are only staying one night and have to be out by 10 next morning it works out very expensive for the hours you get the room for. They should be more flexible in checking in times with coach trips maybe allowing them in an hour earlier so you don't get everyone coming at the same time. Booked the evening meal which was very bland and almost tasteless the only nice think was the cake for pudding. Didn't bother eating there the second night. The entertainment has improved there and enjoyed it. It needs alot of money spending on it as it looks so run down from the outside it's a shame because it could be a beautiful building

I paid extra for the sea view room and I was very disappointed to find that the balcony was locked out. There was also lots of refurb taking place and someone set off the fire alarms at 7am. Either the builders or kitchen staff.

The water in the morning was too hot to have a shower. I always seem to be allocated to a disappointing room. I stayed at this hotel about 8 times this year and I buy all classes of rooms but never seem to be allocated to the front block, or a nice room even when the hotel is empty.

Very dated rooms only two plugs in room one for TV and one for kettle, bar food very basic , coffee in sackets for breakfast expected better quality, chairs in bar area very low not comfortable

That if you book a balcony room they don’t tell you when booking there are restrictions on doors so can’t use the balcony and that housekeeping don’t clean during your stay

Our stay was good the hotel is 100 years old and could benefit from sprucing up it is a nice hotel the only thing is on the leaflet when you arrive tells you housekeeping will not clean your room during your stay one to two days is ok but longer than that the bathroom should be cleaned also our room had radiators but they where never on fortunately it wasn’t too cold for October overall it was a nice stay
