it didn't feel homely

The property is really lovely with huge rear garden. The room was large, with 3 beds (1 double and 2 single) and space in between. The bathroom was a very good size with all the necessary toiletries. We were encouraged to park the car right outside the room, so it was very convenient. The beds were very comfortable and the room clean. The only thing that stops me from rating it Exceptional is the fact that it didn't feel homely, but very business like. The reason we booked a B&B was for the homely feeling but unfortunately we didn't get that. All this being said, it was the best accommodation we've had during our 7 days tour of the south coast.

The photos upon booking do not do this magnificent place justice. Perched on a hill with relaxing views of the countryside, we were immediately kicking ourselves for not booking a longer stay. We had a room on the ground floor just off the garden with ample room. Jane cooked us an amazing breakfast with fresh local ingredients. Best place we have stayed in a while.

The fact we were only staying for 1 night! We would love to have stayed longer.

The owner, very friendly and welcoming. The room lovely, spacious and spotless! The woods an amazing area to walk and relax after travelling all day. The breakfast was cooked to perfection. We liked everything about it.

Warm, happy welcome and assistance throughout our stay this weekend. Cold milk and water in fridge on arrival very much appreciated. Beautiful decor inside and out with fabulous views all around. Wonderful relaxed, plentiful breakfast.

We both noticed that the mattress on the bed dips in the middle and we felt it could do with replacing soon.

The location is lovely and very peaceful with beautiful gardens and grounds and plenty of parking. Jane keeps the rooms spotlessly clean and has very thorough Covid19 safety measures in place. She also makes wonderful tasty breakfasts. We had the yellow room which was large, bright, clean and quiet with a lovely hot shower, soft towels and a thoughtful range of local tea/coffees & fruit teas. We were also provided with bottles of chilled water and milk which was a nice touch.

Everything was super so why nitpick.

The breakfast was very good, and the location was great for exploring Dartmoor and the north coast of Cornwall and Devon. Jane was friendly and very helpful.

The only slight niggle were the steps off the bedroom leading to the bathroom.

Everything! Beautiful B&B and Jane was a fantastic host. Arrived after a wet first day cycling from Land’s End and Jane very kindly offered to wash our wet gear so it was clean and dry for the next day. Excellent recommendation for a local pub for a delicious dinner. Nice comfy room and included facilities. Amazing home cooked breakfast in the morning. Nothing was too much trouble.

Gorgeous setting with a nice walk you can do through the woods. Really spacious and comfortable room with great views. Lovely bath. Recommend dinner at the Dartmoor Inn. Stayed one night on the way to Cornwall.
