Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe sofa bed was small. The rusty radiators and draining board. Not enough comfy seats for 6 people, had to use dining chairs.
Great location. The two double beds were comfy.

United KingdomThe sofa bed in the lounge isn't comfy at all although was made more bearable using the plethora of cushions in the apartment!
Lovely large apartment with 1 bathroom and 1 ensuite shower room. Kitchen had enough equipment and had a washing machine. The bed was super comfortable and both bedrooms had ample storage and really cool led light strips under the window sills!. Location is excellent. No private parking but plenty of paid parking and unpaid parking although in high season the free parking is probably harder to find but in February it was fairly easy for both myself and my husband to park from 2.30pm onwards. It is a basement flat with about 6 steps up to the main door, then go through the door on the right, turn left for a few steps and find the basement flats door on the right. This leads to a fairly steep flight of 13 stairs. This is flat 2 so turn to the left walk a couple of steps and the flat is there. The flat is lovely and warm with efficient heating. Noise from other flats or outside wasn't an issue. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

United KingdomIt is downstairs in the basement so the.light isn't great if you are around all day, the access is ok but as it is downstairs it is worth knowing if you have any access issues. I was a bit worried that it might be noisy as people can walk right past the bedroom windows but it was fine (quiet time of year though).
Really great place, right on the seafront, large and well stocked, beds were great and showers with good pressure and temperature. Easy arrangements to get in and clear messages from the owners. There are plenty of take aways and some fantastic local shops nearby to get all the bits you might need. For size and number of bedrooms and bathrooms (2 of each) it was great value . I'd definitely study again

United KingdomHost didn't contact us with check in details until the day of travel and this caused me a lot of stress. I even contacted booking.com to try and resolve this as the host was not answering texts or voice mail. The host did not get back to booking.com either. The appartment was down a steep, narrow staircase. Not easy to manage with suitcases. The beds were very low and difficult to get out of for a mature lady ! The lounge/ dining area was very basic. The dining chairs were just wooden fold ups and the sofa was an old style sofa bed with an extra wooden rocking chair, so no comfortable places to sit and relax. This I feel spoilt our experience.
Location was good on the seafront. Large space. Nicely decorated bathroom and ensuite. Very warm appartment. Adequate kitchen.

United KingdomThe only negatives about the property was there was quite a bit of noise from the road as it’s quite busy all the time, and the sofa was most uncomfortable could benefit from a new one.
The apartment was well equipped and warm.

United KingdomIt is a semi basement - a bit dodgy when access to it inside the property. Also because of that the ventilation isn't great as not advised to open windows. There is sewer smell particularly noticeable during the night. Uneasy to find a public-free parking place nearby.
Convenient location, very close to the beach. Flat is clean and well-equipped. Spacious

United KingdomThe fact that we didn’t know till last minute that it was a basement flat down a steep flight of steps and we couldn’t see anything out the windows and light was quite limited too. Phone signal was a problem and no internet which was pointed out beforehand and we were offered compensation for this.
Good location, very modern flat and clean and comfortable even left us wine and chocolates!

NetherlandsThe apartment was dirty. When we arrived, there were dirty towels on the floor, used cups of coffee on the counter, half drunk bottles of soda, open food in the fridge, and the sheets smelled as if they had been slept on. The sofa bed was too small to accomodate two people we ended up not staying there. We contacted the property and they did not pick up the phone or reply to our email. Still have not received a refund!

United KingdomWe didn't personally have any issues.
The rooms were lovely and comfortable, living room was spacious with plenty of room for us to have an evening together, playing a board game or watching a film , you can see the pier from just outside the apartment . The town centre was about 10 minute walk away. And having your own kitchen so you don't have to rely on takeaways was great . We would 100% stay here again

AustraliaThe TV worked on the 1st night but didn't work for the following 6 days. This was reported on day 2. The exhaust fan in the back bathroom didn't work which left the walls, sills and clothes feeling damp. The towels never dried completely. The bedroom felt damp. There was no clothes airer/horse. We were unable to open any windows to allow some fresh air. It is a basement apartment with no outlook.
Great location.

United KingdomAlthough it says on the apartment listing 'Free public parking is possible at a location nearby', we did have to drive around 4 or 5 times without finding anywhere to park. So be mindful of this and allow plenty of time to find parking on arrival. Eventually, someone pulled out of a space a few streets away, but I have to admit it was tough walking to the apartment with 2 kids and all our luggage. If you have a suitcase with wheels, this will benefit you in case you do have to park a bit of a way away. Once we eventually got to the apartment block, the main building is a little dated and run down, which was not the most positive first impression. We then realised we'd not been provided with the apartment number. I scrolled through all my email confirmations but couldn't find any details and once we obtained the key from the security box, it had nothing written on it either. Just I was about to start trying my key in different apartment doors, a man came into the block and I asked him if he knew which flat was the holiday rental. He explained that his family also had difficulty finding their apartment and suggested our apartment might be the one opposite theirs. Thankfully, it was. We then discovered our apartment was located in the basement, again no mention of this on the paperwork, and we had the task of getting the luggage and baby buggy down the stairs to the basement, which was a struggle. Also, due to the fact that the apartment is in the basement, there's sadly not much of a view. I really do think the fact that it is a basement flat, should be made clearer on booking.com. In the apartment, the carpet could do with replacing as it was quite old and threadbare in places, but other than that it was a lovely apartment. The WiFi provided only really worked in the living area and didn't quite reach the bedrooms, but that was fine.
This apartment is conveniently located on the sea front, walking distance to the pier and local shops and restaurants. The apartment itself is nice and spacious with all the amenities you could possibly need. We appreciated the effort that had gone into making it homely. It was clean and nicely furnished, although some of the furniture was a little old (drawers getting stuck etc). Lots of basics were kindly provided, tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, a bag of ice in the freezer, complimentary biscuits, all things we appreciated. We had a comfortable first night's stay and made good use of the kitchen and dining areas for breakfast the next morning. It was nice of the property owners to send us a little message, just to check in and see if we had a good first night's stay. We thought this was lovely of them and really appreciated it.
