Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Laura and her husband were so friendly and welcoming. The hut was very comfortable with lovely little touches like extra blankets and useful hooks for hanging towels, etc. The huts have been positioned really thoughtfully to give views over the fields but not of the driveway, even though it is a peaceful place anyway. Breakfast is delivered right to your door with a gentle knock and the shower facilities are clean, spacious and organised. Geographically, Lucker is in a wonderful position to visit Bamburgh and Holy Island, but close enough to escape from the crowds at the end of each day.

United KingdomNothing.
Lovely location i well cared for garden. Accommodation in quaint but well appointed artisanal shepherd’s hut. No facilities in the shepherds hut, however there is a kitchen/shower block close by. Also BBQ shelter and communal shelter for evening socialising. Tasty continental breakfast served at the hut by Laura. Great location for access to beaches, castles and all that Northumberland has to offer. Wide choice of restaurants nearby. Lots of tuneful song birds to serenade you.

Like that there was only few shepard huts wich were very well made and warm and comfortable and the hosts very friendly. Great location nice and quiet facilities was great and some new improvements nearly finished in an out side kitchen. Plenty parking space and secure. Breakfast brought to your door wich was lovely and a great start to the day. Will definitely be back.

United KingdomThere was very little we didn't like. The only slight issue was the low level of lighting in the hut made it difficult to see things until you got the wood burner up to luminous roasty toasty level.
Amazing! Beautiful and comfortable accommodation to rest your head after a day exploring the Northumberland coastline. Facilities had everything you could wish for, including a roasty toasty wood burner to ensure you were snug and warm during the nights, and a lovely continental style breakfast to wake up to in the morning hand delivered in a basket. We were more than impressed with our short break stay and will be returning during the summer months to soak up the beautiful sunrise experienced from the verandah of the hut - a lovely place to sit out and drink coffee in the morning before deciding on the day's agenda. For those who like a bit of nostalgia, it was a perfect way of sampling a trip back in time to when life was a bit more simple and unspoilt by the technological age we now live in.

United KingdomJust small things to improve on... 1. There is no electricity in the huts and the lighting provided is poor. It meant that by 6.30pm we had to be back to sort the log burner and had to read our books by phone light/try to save some battery for phone alarm. Also difficult when getting up to go to the separate shower/toilet block (not a privaye toilet as listed) as its very dark when going down the steps with no lights around. I actually quite liked not having plug sockets in the shepherds hut so you can't be distracted by your phone but better lighting would be great. 2. It's not a fully fitted kitchen. There are 2 microwaves, 2 sinks and a fridge. No chopping knives/kitchen utensils or stove. The fire pit wasn't available and you couldn't use the bbq in bad weather. Would be great to have a gas/electric worktop stove and basic kitchen utensils. 3. You are provided with your own set of plates/cutlery but I found someone else was regularly using ours so I kept having to wash others' plates to ensure we had a full set. Would be great to have individual locks on cupboards. 4. Very little firewood/coal provided and it was october so getting very cold. Would be great if there was a wood store available.
It was very relaxing and peaceful. The south facing shepherds huts were gorgeous in the morning as the sun was coming up. The bushes around provided plenty of privacy and the open field in front ensured great views. We got breakfast included on booking.com which was a continental breakfast hamper - perfect start to the morning with warm croissants and a cup of tea. The location is great, 10 mins drive from Bamburgh. All of the facilities were kept super clean and the hosts were lovely. The shower was hot with good pressure.
