Lovely host, great room and location

A warm welcome. The host was very friendly & helpful beyond the call of duty. Excellent communication, replying promptly to messages. The house is charming, comfortable & in good taste. The continental breakfast options were comprehensive & of good quality. The location is fantastic, in the centre of the village with but quiet in the room. The pubs & village shop are a couple of minutes walk. Lovely to stay somewhere where the host really cares. Recommended.

Just a note - the train stops just by the window, so earplugs would be good to have. As a wife of snoring husband I didn’t care much.

Comfortable bed, cozy little room with a homely feel, what’s not to like. We specifically loved the help yourself breakfast - this allowed us to get up very early, make ourselves some meal and leave early to explore. The owner is a very lovely lady too!

There was nothing that could be improved, had a perfect stay.

Lulu's was perfect, a converted railway station house right next to the railway which we used to travel up and down the coast and yet still quiet as the trains stop running about 9 pm. Our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and we slept like proverbial logs. Lulu laid on a continental breakfast with ham, cheeses, eggs, toast, yoghurt, porridge juice, coffee and fresh fruit. Lulu lives in the property so is always on hand to help with any queries and is so helpful and lovely.

TV quite small - ok for watching but difficult to read the TV guide.

Friendly welcome, comfortable room, lovely continental breakfast with lots of choice. Very close to the railway but the trains stop running during the night.

Fab little place and the setting at the station is really charming. There aren’t many trains so it’s not a noise issue.

The stairs are very steep, especially when wearing motorcycle gear. I would of like some more security or a better place to park the motorbikes, we ended up chaining them together in a car park space on the side of the property next to the main road.

Plenty of choice for breakfast. Very friendly and welcoming. Tea making facilities really good, plenty of tea and coffee and even a fridge with real milk not uht. There was also orange in the fridge and a bag of ice cubes in the freezer. I don’t think there was anything they hadn’t thought about. Everything was very clean and well thought out.

No food. Location good and easily accessible to amenities in village. Very comfortable room and a friendly, approachable hostess.

As the property located right next to the train station, it could be a little bit noisy to some people. I woke up many times first night but then fine. We been out all the time plus weather was good so it s Ok. If you are travelling with young children, best to pack some warm closes and an extra blanket if you can. I didn't ask, but may be Louise would have given extras too. There are little electric heaters in the rooms. As it s carpeted so I didnt use it for safety concerns at night. However, nothing else to worry about staying at Lulu's. You will be treated with respect and kindness at all times.

We stayed as family at Lulu's for 2 nights and had the best experience of Lake district trip this time. Our rooms are so clean and comfy. Louise has provided variety of cereals, bread, eggs, milk, juices, which is unexpected and we all enjoyed the hassle free breakfast just like home :) Additionally, she has given presents to my children. She is very friendly and amazing lady. There are children's play area as well at the front garden. It s really handy and safe to leave kids to play and you can have peaceful cuppa on your own :) The property is just next to the train station and only a few mins walking distance from the Beach-St. Bees Head. Whole view is amazing. You can then drive easily to Wasdale or other adjacent areas for extra activities.
