How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bathroom has a bath without a shower, it's difficult to shower.

Seemed half finished, but looks like it's recently renovated. The bar wasn't ready (could see through the window it's still a building site). The bathroom was basic and again seemed half finished but still served its purpose (no shower only a bath). Windows seemed dirty and lots of condensation, but they were cleaned while we were there so guess its just the sea air! About a 20 minute walk to the tower. No breakfast.
Spacious room, we got a very good room rate so excellent value, coffee machine, comfortable beds, nice details like nice headboards to make it feel more upmarket, nice big windows with lots of light, chairs in room, tv, free on road parking outside if you can get a space which we did!

Smell of wet dog going up stairs & in room slightly. No shower in room. Bathroom was a little bit dirty & toilet leaked at front slightly.
Location brilliant. Beds super comfy. Coffee machine is a nice touch. Relatively spacious room. Staff were lovely. Wee cafe across the road was delicious! Head boards were lovely! Hallway decor is stunning!!!

The room felt quite cold, the radiators were quite small for such a large room and they struggled to heat the room sufficiently, also we didn't have a shower in the bathroom, only a bath.
The decor and fittings were nice, the room had a coffee machine as well as a kettle, the TV was large high quality TV.

Everything was perfect but we didn’t have towels so couldn’t use shower, not sure if this is something we were supposed to bring.
Loved it!!! Comfy bed, modern and clean rooms, everything was great.

Nothing because it got cancelled hours before I was supposed to arrive and got no help from the hotel to find me a replacement or from booking. Com and couldn't get my money back for 7 to 10 days 😪

Floor was not clean, human hair, dog hair etc. The bed didn't look like it had been changed. There was hairs and bits in the bed. No one to greet us in person at check in and no check in instructions prior to arrival. Some wall damage in the room from a water leak it looked like. No shower.

No staff around at all during our stay had 2 visitors knock on our room door late at night saying it was there room and room was little tired looking, no shower and a very small bath

Old, broken items No regular cleaning of room/change of sheets, towels. No staff but one person who is not accessible most times. Reactive, no concern to customers at all. Switched to a different hotel under same management last minute.

Not enough milk in the room.
Lovely lady greeted us. The room was very clean, very comfortable, the bed too! Could smell the freshness on the bedding! Room was supplied with tea and coffee and towels. Located opposite a cafe and the beach with parking just across the way. £15 for 24hours parking but would pay it again for a hotel room like this one.

Owner told us last minute room not available offered us another hotel which was dirty and bed very uncomfortable so we left after 1 night to get new hotel tried to get refund but owner very ignorant. AVOID
