Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTrying to get in.
Very good accommodation. The only problem was getting into it. It was VERY difficult to get into the key box, and even more difficult to get into the house with the key owing to an extraordinarily difficult lock.

BrazilThe property is on a dead-end, the end of the street being a wall that's shared with the police station, so mind the fact that you have to reverse every time you park. The police station is a bit reassuring in terms of safety, but it comes with random sirens at some times in the morning (especially Friday-Saturday). I always sleep with earplugs, but some people don't, so I always mention this kind of stuff to warn the light sleepers. Also, the neighbor next door, an Irish guy, is SUPER loud. He's got some family issues (I know because I basically shared the whole conversation with him through the wall at 1:30 in the morning). I also noticed cars coming in and out at random times and he would go out as well and talk very briefly with people. This is a clear indication of some dodgy activities and I'm pretty sure everyone knows what I mean. That said, he interacted with me a few times when I'd go in or out and was very polite. About the house itself, could be cleaner. Like, I lifted the toilet seat and it had lots of brown stains. Come on... Had to clean the toilet as soon as I arrived... The bin cover was moldy and I had to wash EVERY SINGLE UTENSIL. Seriously. There wasn't a single clean fork on sight. Also every single pan and pot, because I cook a lot. I know this is the guest's responsibility, but it's the property manager's responsibility to check if things are actually clean. Also... The back "garden", was just a place to throw old stuff in. Cigarette butts by the drain and an old plastic bag filled with rubbish. No chairs, no table. I also really missed a place to have a meal or work. There's no desk or comfy chairs. If I owned this place I'd get rid of the wall in the living room, build a counter and put some chairs there and increase the space of the flat. Anyway. I travel A LOT for work, so I like to leave detailed reviews because you never know what people's needs are.
The property was actually OK. Check-in was super smooth, keys in a lockbox, got the code on the day of arrival through Booking. There are two bedrooms upstairs with two single beds in each one of them. Bathroom, kitchen and separate living room downstairs. Location is fair, the Wirral is a small area and quite easy to go around, you wouldn't be too far from anything here really. Comfy beds and good shower. I appreciated the fact that the sheets were clean and that there was a coffee machine with pods, basic kitchen utensils and a washing machine with detergent provided. Leaving shower gel and shampoo from what I assume the past guests is always welcome, same with little kitchen things (there was no salt tho...). Now for the negatives.

United KingdomNo dining table, no garden table and chairs as described in photos. Although booking said we could check out between 12.00-13.00 we were approached by a woman at 11.20 to say that she had a booking from 12.00. So we had to quickly pack up so that the cleaner could come in and prepare for next guests.

Stylish, had everything we needed, WiFi, comfy beds, quiet and safe location, little outside space in the sun and nice neighbours. Close to shops and easy to travel into Liverpool. Grateful to find things like tea and coffee, milk, ketchup had been provided along with shower gel and towels. Lovely place, will stay again.

United KingdomAVOID, AVOID, AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOU'RE HEALTH AT ALL. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LUXURY ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION This place smelt of damp, dirt & mustiness. Firstly we could not get into the house as there was a problem with the lock on the door, eventually after 10 minutes of trying, the owner didn't answer my calls regarding this, I eventually text them, they did answer back to ask which property then to say there was no complaints from anyone else! Once inside, the floor was dirty & the house smelt of damp, dirt & a right mustiness which went straight for one of my groups chest, she became quite unwell & had to go sit outside. I went to have a look through the property, it was by no means luxury! The fridge was dirty inside & outside, the freezer was the same, infact the freezer was so full of ice it would have been difficult to use. The cooker front had food marks all down the front of it, inside the ovens were disgusting with remnants of food & grease on & around the grill tray. The drawer fronts had food partials & crumbs stuck to the fronts & handles. The washing machine was filthy down the front of it & smelt bad. The microwave oven was filthy & the front was all streaky as if it had been wiped with a wet cloth & not dried! The cupboards had crumbs in them & were very sparsely filled with unclean pots! The cutlery drawer had unwashed cutlery in it. The dirt & grim along the skirting boards was disgusting. The bathroom floor tiles were moving under your feet & uneven, I myself tripped on them. The shower screen hadn't been cleaned & was filthy with dirty water. The sealant round the bath was dirty with mould. The back garden wall was broken & falling down into the backyard, there had been a new gate put on but all the brick rubble had been left lying on the ground inside the gate & would have caused a trip hazard.
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!! AT ALL COSTS Absolutely nothing did we like about this property.

United KingdomThere was no toilet roll and bread toaster. Bedding and linen not changed during our four night stay. The main door locking system is very horrible. At the time of checkout, when we were moving our luggage to my car the door is locked automatically from inside and the owner charged £60 in advance from me to open the door and his property maintenance person opened the door within 30 seconds. The owner's mentality is very bad, no human consideration and not service oriented. He's a money minded person.

United KingdomOn arrival lock box wouldn’t open. Called owner 21 times before answer. Advised code change. Went out and double locked the door. On return couldn’t get in. Another phone call and after some hassle got in. Said would send maintenance to fix to avoid a repeat but did not. Back door key wasn’t at the property. Called again and said cleaner would bring round which he did. Yard had multiple dog dirt piles, rubbish, fag ends, cans and rubbish bags. Beyond disgusting. Black sheets on beds showed suspicious looking white staining. No apology from owner and responses were flippant and dismissive. No toaster - stolen apparently, how recently unknown but not specified as missing in ad. Overall, do not be misled by the ad. It is far from luxury. Beds were quite comfortable. Unable to access normal digital on tv. Just smart tv apps. Dangerous hanging brisket from wall in yard too. Sorry mate but I gave you ample opportunity to redeem yourself and apologise but I don’t think you were interested or bothered.

United KingdomThe room wasn't ready until after 4pm, making us late for our event, check in was meant to be 2. I made contact with the host and he said "cleaners wont be in until after 2pm" he also lied and said they were 10 minutes away at 3pm! He just kept pushing the time back. All three of us had to start getting ready in the front room, which I had to mop and tidy myself, so we had somewhere to start sorting ourselves out. The sofa's were stained and horrible to sit on. There was no sweeping brush in sight. When we initially entered it was still dirty obviously from the previous nights guests. Dirty takeaway boxes, cans, and rubbish all over. We actually did the cleaners a favour in trying to put all the rubbish together. So that when they did finally arrive, they would be quick. The bins outside were over flowing with rubbish on to the streets. When the cleaners finally did show, three of them, they were so slow and my friend watched one of them wash dirty dishes with his bare hands, no washing up liquid, soap, nothing! when I raised this with the host he said the cleaner had told him they hadn't been used. But they had, I was the one who placed them within the sink, to assist, as they were filthy! and the 'cleaner' just placed them back in the cupboard. The towels were damp and the host had letters all spilled on the side, which stated 'important' and 'investigation' The freezer was an ice block completely, so out of use. The whole place smelt. The neighbour was noisy and the walls are so thin, this is far from luxury accommodation. The host attempted to bribe me to not leave this review, he offered me £35. He is rude and not worthy of being on this site. Also needs new cleaners, not three young lads, who clearly do not care and are ruining his property. A complaint has been filed.
